Expanded to 3 cities early with my coastal city at the nice floodplain site 10 or so tiles east. Oracle -> Metalcasting slingshot, most GPs settled, Theology bulbed via prophet. Some AI beat me to the great lighthouse at about 600 BC, but after that I prioritized wonder enabling techs and cleaned everything else up. Too disappointed with missing the clean sweep to try and extract the relevant info from my save and report properly as I'm sure you will understand.

Hah! Thanks for reporting anyway uberfish, as now my paranoia is confirmed (see the discussion in Mortius' thread). smile

I'm tempted to play that game again without building any wonders at all, just to see when the AIs might have built them...

I agree, and wrote it in my report, building Great Lighthouse in 25 BC was realy lucky, but I were never affraid about landing dates of Pyramids and Hanging Garden.

It makes me wonder why there are so big differences in building time of some wonders, especialy so early in the game. I build Great Lighthouse in 25 BC, Compromise in 225 BC, when in your game it was long after AI took it. We start the same game, playing almost the same way, 3 early cities, one on the floodplains, Metal Casting slingshot ... huh

@ Kylearan - You promised to write the raport. I am realy waiting to read it hammer

600BC for the Lighthouse would have beat my date.

It would interesting to see the earliest dates that the AI build each wonder across all games. That would give an idea of when it was "safe" to build each wonder. Of course, you'd want to throw in the birth dates for AI Engineers and whether or not the player traded Metalcasting to the AI and ....

Ah, too many "what if"s. Sometimes the hut gives you Bronzeworking, sometimes you pop 3 barb warriors. Better to be lucky than good, I guess.

This is so true. One of my misses was the AI got a GE, and stole a late game wonder. Sometimes the RnG will screw the works up.

Getting 34/34 was always going to require luck that the AI doesn't build whichever ancient wonder you put off until last before you do.
