Actually while thinking about Civ while lying in bed (loser alert! loser alert!) I'm wondering if a LH in TGR is better than a granary. We're not going to be able to whip either of those before we revolt out of Slavery, so either one is going to take many many turns, even with a plains workshop if/when we get a worker down there
I assume that the plan is to hire specialists once we grow to size 3, right? Back of the envelope suggests to me that we won't get much use out of a granary because by the time it's built, we'll already be at max pop. With a lighthouse, at least once it's done we can grow one more pop and hire one more spec.

I started to do the math on this, but my reasoning is that netted fish + netted clams will put the granary on top (unnetted either would probably make lighthouse the right choice). Plus we're going to have workers work shop the plains and grass, right? So definitely granary on top. I'll crunch numbers just for some peace of mind

Did the whip in HS.
Can we spare 1 worker for TGR? It'd help to get workshops going there sooner rather than later, otherwise we will just sit on that granary or lighthouse or whatever and it won't matter what we build because it won't get built 2 workers would be better but I think we have too much for workers to do right now.
Maybe TGR should even make a worker at size 2?

You must have missed where I suggested this in the middle of my regoarrarring
I think that we should bring one worker back with the missionary when we do the ship exchange at Hanukkah Song next turn

A few thoughts I had this morning -
* We should close borders with Yuri now/soon. We're going to need to close borders with him at some point, in order to hide our massive SoD, and it looks less suspicious to do it now vs. the turn after we get Guilds
* Conflicting with that thought was a thought to load 2-4 elephants on some galleys and sail them around down towards the southern ice (Inferno Island-ish) to just chill out. Then when we declare war, they come in to raze lightly defended backline cities.
* It looks like we only have 3 techs left - is that right? (Machinery, Feudalism and Guilds). I was thinking Engineering should be next while we are whipping out those knights (perhaps literally or perhaps just figuratively). The 3 move on roads would allow us to 1-move Yuri's frontline cities from the fog.
* But what we do NOT have time for is Civil Service. I was actually thinking that we may want to skip CS for quite some time. We lose a few food from not being able to chain irrigation, and the ability to build maces, but we'll have [strike]muskets[/strike]OROMO WARRIORS! before too long and we just don't have the time / beakers to do it. So if we want to build a slow-mover stack it will be xbows, cats and elephants, which isn't too bad.
* We need a spy or two to keep an eye on Yuri.
* We also need some more galleys

If we do pop an Engineer it will bulb Machinery, then Engineering, then Feudalism, then Guilds. It should do 1000 + 2* pop, so maybe 1100-1200 beakers.
Machinery and Feudalism are both 1127 beakers, so it should finish both of those (or close). So I guess we should run Feudalism after Monarchy to let the GE bulb Machinery (should we pop one)

Oh, I did miss that about the workers. Then let's not unload workers directly into the city but instead unload 1 worker from the boat and have the boat move with worker + missionary back towards TGR after loading up with the missionary.
I think I prefer Feudalism as our next tech over Engineering: try to get into Vassalage ASAP, especially if we are skipping CS. And our (hopeful) GE bulb will take care of Machinery like you pointed out. What are the odds going to be? Probably not too hgh

I would put our odds of maybe 60% Merchant, 20% Scientist, 20% Engineer.
We're not going to revolt right now, yes? I thought we'd be waiting for our GA

So I thought you said before we were going to revolt into Caste/HR now and then revolt back to slavery for the golden age? Is that right or did I misunderstand? Staying in slavery works if we plan on whipping - so obviously it helps TGR get on its feet faster. But working a bunch of 1/2 workshops does make my eyes hurt
Edit: If we are continuing to get infrastructure in then slavery probably is the better choice. It shouldn't delay the golden age too long - National Epic, 2 scientists, 1 priest, and 1 engineer will be 26GPP/t in the capital.

I dunno. That's what we need to figure out / decide. If/when we revolt to Caste and/or back to Slavery. When we revolt to Vassalage / Theocracy / etc.
