No worries! It's just a SG, so if someone drops it just means more turns for the rest of us lol.

I ought to have a real internet connection tomorrow, so I'll try cracking open the save tomorrow night (unless Pindicator wants to give it a go).

Alright, played through ten turns for us. Like Yuris, I sort of feel completely lost at this point, and am not sure exactly what we should be doing. We're at war with a couple of the AIs, but they're nowhere near us. So I thought I'd do a little a building instead of warring.

Turn 2310: Sparta command was about to have food riots (which would be very bad), so I switch it to working more food. Swap tech from pholus mutagen to centauri ecology, as recommended earlier. We don't finish it in this turnset, but should be able to finish it in the next.

Turn 2313: We get a datajack. Looks like we only need 2 GPs to fire a golden age. So I save him for the time being.

Luttinen asks us to declare war on Morgan. I note Morgan's got a base on our island and it's lightly defended, so I agree. That'll it least give us something to do.

Turn 2314: There were a few great generals lying around in Sparta Command. I decide we might as well get some use out of them, so I sent them to Assassin's Redoubt (which looks like more of a production center) and use them to construct military buildings. I started building some navy there.

Turn 2315: Domai demands money from us. I refuse.

Turn 2319: I arrive with some mindworms outside Morgan's base on our island. He's surrounded by fungus, so I give them the promotions which make them invisible on fungus. The base is lightly defended (I think one impact trooper and one genite), but we'll need more force if we're going to take it from him.

Other than that, mostly just building whatever infrastructure looks useful.
Are we going to win this by transcendence? How do we speed up the flowering counter, other than by generating transcends?

I'd say we should race, see if we can hit Domination or transcendence first smile.

I see four additional ways to add to flowering, some of which we can do, and others we can't yet. Possibly there are more.
  1. We can plant fungus; each plot is worth 100/#tiles on the map to the flowering counter. Can do this as soon as we finish researching Centauri Ecology, our current tech. We can also make Bob's special Wild/Bloom native life, and have it go pillaging to create more fungus.
  2. We can pass the 'Offer Affinity Gene treatments resolution' as many times as possible, although I admit I'm not sure if that's a UN resolution or a Concordat one. Can do this already, if we get diplomatic control
  3. The biggie: research Pholus Mutagen, to convert all our Xenofungus into Hybrid forests. A Hybrid forest is worth triple a Xenofungus plot toward flowering. (300/#tiles)
  4. And, at Secrets of Alpha Centauri, we can start founding Communes. I *think* that's a tile improvement, that you build on fungus or hybrids, adds another 100/#tiles to the flowering counter, also seems to to 'increase feature spread rate'.

So, basically - we want to own a lot of land, and put a lot of fungus into it, while continuing our current research path.

In other news, I notice that Zakharov has 3 dimensional gates. Three more, and one more tech (Singularity Mechanics), and he'll be able to build the Subspace Generator to win the game himself. So we should probably put some effort into the war with him/Roze, see if we can't conquer some of his land. Since we can build Psi gates, all we really need is a bunch of those built at home, and one captured territory.

Spawning Transcends helps a bit too (almost 1 point to the counter usually?), but are not as sustainable imo.

Have you ever gotten to the later Green techs? Xenoempathy dome allows you to run *6* empath specialists, and can be built once per 4 cities, and gives free specialists for communes. Personality Transcription gives a cross civilizational GPP pool in addition to the regular city ones. I was generating a transcend almost every turn in one of my late game University games.

The GPP curve is weird in Planetfall, in that it only slows down in the midgame(and only there if you don't build planetary council, and swap out of democracy). Later on with things like Rejuvenation tanks, massive increases in available food/happiness(edens) and more abundant specialists slots, you'll probably be generating many more GPs. Then in the very late game with Personality Transcription things just explode and you start generating them everywhere all the time. This sort of reminds me of Alpha Centauri though, when as you went into the late game you would suddenly get access to Transcends and your specialists became turbocharged.
