Attack on Sex:
Many of those units are slightly injured.
I used 2 cats to drop the defenses and 4 to attack. Lost all the cats, but only one of the attackers. The attacks were at 60-90%, so a little lucky, but I probably shouldn't have lost ALL the cats - they were at 30%, mainly.
I'll maybe do a more indepth analysis later - we'll see.
Down at drugs:
The forces of knights, trebs, and knights and HA are a few turns away. I also have more trebs coming up from the south.
Why trebs? Well, I'm city busting and I can make them as easily as cats, so why not? I'm going to make some more cats, though, cause they are better in the open.
I just moved in and did some pillaging and bombardment. Drugs should fall in 3-4 turns.. then it's Zero, who has some strenght, but no HA for flanking. One of my plans will be to get rid of his horses ASAP, to keep him from HA/Knights.

TT hit my stacks with cats, but did no follow on. That's gotta be a little frustrating, doing the damage, but not being able to kill the units.
I reduced the defenses to 0, though I dunno if I'll be able to attack next turn or not, for a couple of reasons, one of which is that Zero made a move:
I think it was just a worker-snipe, but I have to take it seriously, so I moved some units around to deal with it.

And down goes Drugs.
Not a lot to say - the treb and the cat did a lot of collateral and my units won flawlessly - most of the combats were 90+ %. Trebs ar every useful for city busting. Not so great for open land warfare, of course.
Rest up, then hit Zero. I'll hit from two sides - from the south and TT's former land and from his east, from McHale's Navy. and I'll build up a smaller force over by Parrish's fort, too, and come in from his west, later.
Presumably, there will be a huge battle at some point, or a lot of small ones.
I got gunpowder, plus a scientist, so I bulbed Philo, because I need it for Mil Trad. I doubt I'll get to curaissers.

Not very interesting turn - I'm healing up and plundering. My slow movers in the south should be healed next turn.
I plundered 70 gold this turn, which pays for 3 turns of research.
I'm making muskets now. 14 turns to mil trad. I'll have nationalism in 6, so if I pop an engineer, i suppose i can make Taj Mahal.
I have a small stack threatening Zero's eastern border (4 seige, pike, LB, xBow, couple of knights, mace). It'll get reinforced by a few more horse units and a mace and get ready to move in.
The southern stack should be ready to move in in 2, maybe 3 turns, depending on how fast the slow movers walk and how much I'm willing to send in knights/seige before them.

50 more gold in pillaging, moving stacks in, killing a couple of barbarians (they will be a small problem that I'll have to dedicate forces to stomping out).
Zero picked up HR this turn. I moved a stack in to his eastern lands and my expenses jumped some more.

He killed a stack - 13 units dead, to 5 of his dead. However, his stack is badly wounded and he's light on collateral - it seems to be just a couple of damaged cho-ko-nu, so I am pressing the attack. If he had another stack, he could pretty much walk into my cities - but he doesn't have horse units better than a chariot yet.

Continuing to move forward. I may have made a mistake... he's got some more collateral damage units and if he can kill the 2nd stack...

Retreat. For the first time, the Celtics advance on a city and leave without conquering it.
There is basically no way for me to take that city. if I retreat now, i can preserve my forces for another attack. Which might be tough - he has guilds now and is just a few turns from HBR and knights. I have muskets and am still considerably ahead, but...

So, my strategy now is several fold:
1) Build a bigger army
2) cut off his iron (he only has the one)
3) hit the city closest to me (the one Serdoa razed and he replaced)
Honestly, I should have pulled my forces home and then hit that city with everything I had. What I've been doing is piddling around, which is really the way the AI wars. Which isn't good
My analysis of this game was that conquering would be difficult and I don't think that's changed any.
