Gillette Turn Discussion

I sort of like NE-NE for the scout -- it will reveal quite a lot of land. But I think we would want to then move him back south-ish, and it looks like forest (or jungle) SE of that hill so we would "waste" the following turn backtracking. Still, we would learn a lot from that hill.

What is the plan for next turn with the worker? Go to the pigs hill to improve it? What will our capital work? FP for max growth and a touch of commerce until the pigs are ready? What do we build? Warrior for future settler escort, or scout for more exploration? Either way I think we want the starting warrior back to the capital.

Yes, improve pigs first and work the FP. At least that's what I've been doing in the start sandbox smile

Pasturing pigs first while working FP sounds like the best plan.

Our starting warrior is coming back to the capital, so he'll be around, too. We can build a warrior and send him east or south. If we decide to settle north or west, we can use the starting warrior to protect the settler, and pull the scouting warrior back to protect the capital.

We're up. I can play, but I'm not sure what we decided to do with the Scout

I think there was slightly more preference for south with the scout. Only haphazard1 and I liked the NE move, whereas you, Seven and Merovech supported south. I'm fine with Seven's suggested move in order to keep the game going.

Played. Scout found another deer. Proposed next movement on the screenshot

Started working the flood plains, demos are with the new worked tile

Proposed scout move is OK with me, although I would also not object to going a bit further east and then back southwest the following turn. This eastern region is not bad, but without a river it is not as attractive for early expansion as the northwest.

Yes, I thought about move to the east as well, but in the end uncovering the last dark area in immediate neighbourhood of the capital seemed better. My idea is to move SE-SW as shown next turn, and then start looking at turning in general NE direction

My immediate thought was also to suggest E-E as the next move, but Yuris' reason for SE-SW sounds pretty good.

We're up, I'll move the units as I suggested unless there are any objections
