Respec Token

Upcoming 1.0 patch note
Quote:Based on the number and depth of balance changes to skills in this update, certain characters will be provided a “respec token” that allows them to reassign their skill points. This token is automatically placed in the character’s inventory and can be used at any time.

All Evokers and Guardians will receive respec tokens, as will all characters in Subscription Member accounts.

The way I am reading this is
- If you are subscriber, all your toons will get a Respec Token. (the missing keyword here is "existing" toons)
- All Evokers and Guardians, subscriber or not, will get a Respec Token.
- I would think this is a one use token.

Looks like a good time to try out some of the skills you are not so sure of.

And for the subscribers - There's a slight chance I maybe wrong on this but I am going to go ahead and create new characters to fill up my 24 character slots so each of them would have a Respec Token saved for future use.

Now the problem is coming up with that many new names and looks before the patch goes live. And, which modes? Since I already have a toon of each classs in normal, I guess it makes sense to create the rest in Elite mode? They can always be deleted to make room new ones anyway. Are we getting into some Elite action soon?

So far my experience with elite characters has not been encouraging, particularly with a marksman who I was playing solo. Big problems for me included slowness of killing mobs, lack of money to buy pots and relocation devices, and lack of useful ingredients from dismantling junk. All of these problems are interrelated. If you die on one of those long trek (eg Covent Garden to Charing Cross) and you don't have the money to buy plenty of pots and prds, you will start back at the beginning and everything will have respawned. I suppose party play and the ability to party portal would solve lots of these problems, but I have not found this game to be very party friendly, unless everyone in the party has the same quests. Otherwise, you end up repeating too many areas, which, in my view, is pure tedium. Granted, the usual quest line begins to involve some repetition of areas no matter what you do (eg, getting sent back to Connor who sends you to "explore" an area you were already in many quests before). Another problem with party play involves the additional strain on my frame rate from additional spell effects from other party members' attacks. A new computer would certainly help but this game hardly justifies the expense of that imo.

Anyway, I just make VenoBohn (Poison and Bone tree) in elite and he just landed in act2. Doesn't seem all that bad for gold (yet?), tho he has been selling all drops and none went to scraps so far. Spent gold on 4 machine upgrades and still have around 8k left. But I know what you mean even in late normal normal, BlackLicorice was still shopping for large medium to large injectors...

How far are your elites, maybe we can hook up

I have also created a few more elite chars
Veno Bohn - Evoker
Ann Dariel - Summoner
Amn Ralthul - Guardian
Rosemary Thames - Blademaster
Kink Of Ping - Marksman
Bling Blings - Engineer

So then we are more or less moving toward Elite mode, leaving normal mode probably only for crippled variants?
