Hello fellow Centaurians. Do you enjoy killing mind worms as much as I do? Or are you shrimp-lovers?

Mardoc: is there anything specific you'd like to know about my neighbours?

Just enough to guide me to your home, if I've met them. I'm sure I'll find you sooner or later, but a hint would be handy.

If you've met the Drones, I'm north-east of them. There's also Zakharov somewhere around, but I'm not exactly sure where.

Partner? Your people still don't want to trade. Not sure that counts.

Do you have one of my owned plots visible? Is the visible route to my territory free of IoD blockades? Does it have to pass through another faction's territory, keeping in mind possible border expansions since the last time you visited the area?

I can answer your question in the game, so I see no reason to say it publicly. You'll get your response once the save makes it back around.

To the best of my knowledge, yes on all counts. I'm assuming here that there are no invisible blockades, that you haven't lost any territory, and if Sea Fungus has grown, it's only narrowed the path by 1 tile.

What's the reason why public diplomacy is so common on RB? There seems to be a desire and need for private diplomacy.

Ooh, I know. My one coastal tile on that coast is covered with sea fungus. As a consequence your plotgroup can't connect to it from an unowned plot. Assuming my Planet Attitude stays at +2, the borders of that base will expand in 5 turns. Then my territory will include fungusless coast, and your plotgroup will extend to my entire territory. Of course if you've signed open borders with Morgan, you may not have open trade route slots left by that time.

For the record, Planetfall does not allow one's trade network to pass through territory you don't have open borders with. To still allow resource trade between factions without open borders, I loosened the requirement for a trade network connection from 'your plotgroup includes the other civ's capital' to 'a plot must be part of both faction's plotgroup'. As those coastal tiles are part of both our plotgroups, we can trade resources, but as we noticed, don't yet meet the stricter requirements for allowing trade routes.

Also for the record, I have trade with Sareln now, so the 'bug' has been crushed.
