Well, we're going to get the nearby land no matter what. But I think that if we don't act fast, Menagerie is going to grab that spot, giving them corn/gold/elephants, possibly losing our supply of horses, and giving them a direct route to our capital. Assuming we can get a firm settling pact in place with TEAM, we can safely squeeze our (noncreative!) other neighbor and end up with a nice big chunk of land.

It's risky, no denying that, but I think we can pull it off. It's on a hill and it's close to our capital. How much do we know about Menagerie's power level from C&D? That'll determine whether or not we need to go for archery.

I too vote for pink dot. Hills will help with defense. It's not too far from our cap. Only 5 tiles. With chariots that's only two turns from our capital for a chariot to get to. No point in playing it safe all the time.

I say Pink Dot, its only 5 tiles away as has been pointed out, so its hardly unreasonable.

Well, considering I'm the only one voting No on this, we're going Pink Dot.

On the hill or 1S of the hill? 1S has the advantage of not needing a border expansion to pick up Gold and IVory. Since we don't have Pottery, this is a huge deal (unless we want to build a Monument).

First of all, we're probably not losing our source of Horses. Squeezing your neighbor means they'll be looking for an opportunity to declare war and seize that city. Defending that spot might kill us by dumping hammers into units too early. We're not Creative either, we're just the Inca.

You know, I don't think we even need to research archery. Assuming the starts are balanced, we already know they don't have horses at their start. We don't know about copper yet, but they won't be able to get it any sooner than us. And they can't choke us with archers either, because we're inca.

And if we get judaism later, there's a good chance that the holy city will be the pink dot city, which would really dominate the area with our culture smile.

Good thinking.

With any luck copper is in the BFC. We should have asked TEAM to not notify LP of our presence, now that I think about it. Then again, I'm not sure they did.

Nakor, can you get ahold of someone of TEAM and try to figure out what exactly they told LP? Or if you can't, I'll go ahead and dial him up next time I see him on gmail.

If we don't have Copper in the BFC, do we go ahead with Pink Dot, assuming that Team Trois doesn't have it either?

I think we go ahead with it either way; but if there is copper in the BFC we need to hook it up and get an axe down there ASAP.

What's the timing on getting a settler to the hill? Btw, we want to settle on the hill. 1S may not need a border pop, but if we're going to aggressively settle then we want to make sure we are gaining ourselves every defensive bonus we can.
