WW15 - Chiron is a harsh mistress

Despite claiming myself, I would be against a large scale claim (which i guess in hindsight made my claim anti town slightly, but I want the option of RP open to me)

Given that there are multiple people without names, I don't see any gameplay reason anymore to reveal names. Could be nice for roleplay of course.

I'm in agreement with Jkaen and Zakalwe.

We know that names don't suggest scumminess, however we aren't sure whether they are indicative of roles. Consequently, if we reveal the main village gain is the possibility of a baner spotting a seer. But the wolves will also get this information at no risk to themselves.

Disclaimer: If people want to roleclaim for role-playing reasons that's fine by me. We're playing to have fun after all :neenernee

Quote:Selrahc, if you're somewhat against the name claim, why did you confirm that you don't have a name?

Because that isn't really a name claim. I don't have a name, I do have a pseudo-name(i.e, something like drone, talent, transcend, engineer, doctor, librarian, empath, thinker etc.) that I would reveal if we decide on a mass name claim.

I'm thinking revealing that is harmless enough. Especially since Maniac was getting a bit paranoid about JKaen's "I don't have a name" statement.

Quote:I'm going back and forth on the matter, myself. What exactly do we hope to gain from having everybody claim? If there is nothing to be gained, it stands to reason there could be something to be lost.

I agree that there is something to be lost. But pushing scum to have to reveal information fast can also be useful. Names probably won't reveal alignment, but they might reveal something, and pushing for the reveal before the wolves can get a plan in place is the best chance it has of doing so.

For an example of a way it could help. In the FFH game there was a name seer and all the wolves were given a fake name. If this game has a similar set up then it does give a potential name seer a knowledge base to work from.

But as I said, I'm generally against revealing names and ultimately not too fussed about it. I think it is likely to be of marginal importance.

Welcome Serdoa, Mattimeo!

I suppose it's just BrickAstley out there? His first WW game, right? Is it ok if we nuke him D1? Speaking of running newbies off, where's VM?

Just a note about incursions from RL: I accepted a job offer that starts today, so I won't be as much of a night owl as I have been in the past games. I will have my phone, so I expect to be connected to this forum 24x7.

I know that's what I'm saying. We lynched our newbie on D1 and he didn't come back. Sorry not clear.

I thought he wasn't playing because he had vacation.

That would appear to be the case, yes:

Let's see, I'm reading Q's post as saying that the rivalry is pointless, not Mardoc's vote. Maniac claiming to be unkillable feels off to me (unless this is a SMAC joke that I'm not getting), as the role feels too powerful. Maybe there's a catch?

I don't have a name, just a function.

I don't object to a pressure vote on Brick, just object to your eagerness to kill him so soon. He hasn't even done anything yet!

Nothing's pinging suspicious to me yet except for Maniac's claim, so I'll vote for him. Unkillable seems WAY too powerful.
