Hi,

one downside of this release-before-ready approach is that it makes it much harder to get a review or good information about certain aspects of the game.

Does somebody know how good the AI is? This is a major factor for me for any 4X game. I'll buy it if it's at least decent, but won't if it is weak or only good because it cheats. I have no interest in a sandbox game.

I was planning to wait for the all-clear before starting any succession games, since that's when I expect the potential for patches to come along that invalidate save games to taper off.

As far as AI goes, I can't tell you a lot at this point, but for SotS1 the AI started out fairly rough-and-ready at initial release and improved greatly over time and the release of expansions. We'll probably see a similar pattern here. Again, though, I plan to wait for all-clear before trying it out and making any judgement calls.
