I'll build another base this turn, though it'll need a border expansion to connect to our trade networks. That'll only take 3 turns of course.

If you cease military production, I can free up production for additional colony pods, so that you can get all your trade routes from me. :D

Looking to the future, I will hook up a Rare Rainy DNA in a couple turns. Want to exchange that for your monolith, Sareln? I don't know how interested you are in being pro-Planet.

As it happens, Consciousness possession of Siege Tanks *is* conducive to peaceful resolution, though, on your border with me. I'd been seriously considering a raid on your ports until Maniac revealed that it wouldn't work.

Speaking of whom - why am I the one who should research superconductors? I'm not the one with hostile Probe Teams wandering my land. On a related question - I've got your graphs now. Not sure where the mutual vision line is, but I'd be happy to stop spending EP against you as soon as you stop spending them on me. Interested?

A game mechanics question for Maniac - probe teams are normal land units, right? They can't go on ocean outside your borders/borders of people you've signed Open Borders agreements with?

Indeed. They can walk on water inside your territory. They can't walk on unowned water. They can't walk on water plots owned by another faction, regardless of open borders. Same counts for choppers: they can't move on water plots of people you have open borders with.

Considering all your trade route needs can be filled by me and Sian, researching Superconductor indeed seems of little use to you.

There are no hostile probe teams wandering anyone's land.

any, not quite as hostile, probe teams wandering about?

No non-hostile probe teams wandering either, nope.

What would be wrong with wandering probe teams anyway, as long as they're not poisoning water supplies and the like? The Data Angels favour free flow of information. Feel free to have probe teams wandering my territory. smile

Didn't have time to play this morning so apologies for the delay everyone.

Wandering probe teams are their own form of temptation, you'know? I wouldn't want you to be tempted to steal my beeline wink.

@ Maniac, DMZ is fine, I'll pull one tank back. I've got hammers in two more tanks so I'm going to finish those so I don't lose hammers to decay. I'm not paying maint on them due to police state anyways. I thought the espionage spending worked the same way as in BTS, so you can see how I thought you were spending all your EP directly on me yeah? Probably some impact troopers as well or something similar to help keep Mardoc honest smile.

I still contend that Garrison and zone defense are the same roles. Chalk it up to a language issue. I also thought you were in Free Trade or whatever it's called, but I see now you've been in planned (which makes more sense anyways).

I don't think we need to be actively scouting each other. You've certainly got enough EPs for city vision and have already demonstrated that you have vision on at least 3 cities, so you don't need the scout. I can read the power graph just fine, so I don't need to scout you.

@ Mardoc, I don't have superconductor and am not planning on getting it anytime soon (mmm planned econ) so that's all I meant by that.

With regards to military buildup, I'm pretty sure I have quite a few slots for free unit support, so I tend to intersperse my buildings with units (esp. when I want my bases to be growing!) so there will still be military coming out from time to time, esp. since upgrades are so cheap! Should slow down significantly once I get to Memetics and start building my core ya'know? smile

Did I miss anything from the diplo-chatter?

FYI I consider all uninvited probe teams in my territory to be hostile and a casus belli.

Yeah - any interest in an EP agreement with me to stop at a level where we can both see graphs?

I don't think it's possible actually. Maniac said earlier upthread that the cost of the passive stuff is a function of total EPs spent on everyone. alright
