Next turn I can hit Nic's other port- it'll be close though, even if he doesn't attempt to fortify it with more troops. He already has three Genites and a Flamer there.

Also, I hope this post gets stuck on a new page, my thread is becoming a pain to scroll through. I hate using spoiler tags for images tho, it's a pain to have to click them open every time you reload the thread, if you want to see what happened in a particular turn.

This was a good turn.

First, I was ready to attack Nic's other eastern port of Great Conclave. Opened the turn to find that he had killed my wounded, spying Isle with a Chopper and then offered peace. Rejected the peace treaty, used an Isle against the Chopper at good odds but lost, but then made up for it by killing it with my Gunboat.

City itself had three Genites defending. Attacked first with a City Raider I Marine, lost at 30% odds but only barely. Finished off the remaining enemy at good odds, no loses:

I may be wrong, but I think Nic's about finished as a factor. His economy is screwed due the loss of irrigation and hydro plants, he has now lost two well-developed cities and several troops, he has no ports which I am aware of to claim revenge against me, and Mist now outnumbers him 8 cities to 6.

I think I'll send my surviving troops south to sack Lab Three. No sense in allowing Selrahc to retain any ports to attack me, since he doesn't seem to want to be friends.

A pod was opened:

A city was founded:

My capital somehow managed to train both a Marine and Sea Colony pod at the same time (?!). The Marine was cued up to finish after the Colony Pod, but it shouldn't have completed on the same turn...

I am winning this game, which is probably why nobody else is really reporting much. Must be frustrating to be up against a guy who is difficult to reach, keeps collecting free money, techs etc. from pods every turn, and has a nigh-infinite supply of powerful sea units. Also, who knows exactly where you live, while much of the map remains fogged for you. My biggest threat now is Mist, who should become quite strong after he takes out Nic. I need to expand and develop as best as possible while he has to invest resources into finishing off the Peacekeepers. I'm glad I went right for Hyperions, they'll counter Mist's Invitros (well, sort of. Probably not on a cost-effective basis unless I also have collateral handy).

I believe it's a feature that cities can produce more than 1 unit per turn.

Also, thanks for keeping the updates! Lurkers appreciate it.

Lost a veteran Isle to claim the damned thing :|

Although at least I got some exp on the defending Isle when I did beat it.

Update for the last three turns inbound. I didn't take pictures for the first two.

I spawned a Transcend at 50% odds, did a tasteful dance. Will bulb half of Affinity Gene. I also finished the Hyperians tech + 1-turned Factionalism. 4 turns for Memetics to complete, then it's civics revolt time. Opened a pod on turn 98 for a bunch of cash.

Opened another pod on turn 99 for more moolah:

I note that none of the cash results ever seem to give me the full amount. Hmm.

Two new cities:

I found another next turn. I'm going to build a nice crop of Hyperians, need to get serious about my garrisons for two reasons- first, I've been having lousy results in combat with Native Isles, and I'm down too many captured worms, and second my demographics look like this:

Which means a dogpile is imminent. I keep trying to reach out to Mist, but he hasn't accepted any trades and is silent in the public thread. Just have to hope he really does take out Nic anyway. Regardless, it is imperative that I have defenses prepared now in advance, and not only started once I have realized that two dozen Invitros are inbound. I'm leading enough that I think I can invest extra resources into military, to maintain hegemony.

For the first time in a while, I don't have any colony pods cooking. I've marked out a few sites to settle, so I'll get to my next round of expansion after I finish some present infra and military builds. I'm probably investing too many resources into accumulating Planet points, but I am going to be relying on Native units to maintain a game-long military advantage.

Built the Centauri Preserve. Why? Because I could! Also, more transcend points jive

Next turn is revolution times. Autarky and Knowledge, here I come! Maaaybe Hybrid too, gonna have to check out the health situation first.

I believe that at this point fewer than a dozen pods remain on Planet.

New civics selected, before the change:

Civ after:

Latest round of military builds is completing. Gearing up for the next wave of expansion- it's going to be a big one, and probably of the continuous, rolling variety. At this point I have total freedom to spam the map as I see fit.

Report from the last few turns:

I opened more pods. Might have shown some of these results already, I can't even keep track of them any more:

Demographics look good:

Did I say good? They're great. Look at my military. And it's not all Isles any longer.

Diplomatically, the situation has improved significantly. Mist finally approved a resource trade with me, one of my DNA for a Longevity Vaccine. Nic made peace with me + gifted me silver. Selrahc signed that Friendship Treaty thing in exchange for my not razing Lab Three with the remnants of my Nic invasion fleet. He also is now trading Radiotropic Fungus for my spare Gin, and White Algae for some DNA or another. I don't actually need any of the resources I'm trading for, all my cities are fairly well under the happy and health caps. I just want the added security which comes from trade ties- I may not need those Vaccines, but I suspect Mist really could use the Arid DNA or whatever.

So. I'm just going to expand and tech. I'm going to focus mostly on gathering Planet techs, since I want to begin planting fungus as soon as feasible. Idk if I can ever actually raise the FC high enough to win, since I'm sure my opponents will go all-out chopping fungus once I get close. So maybe I'll have to just launch a giant invasion, and/or go for the boring space win thing. Whatever works, really. I'm having a lot of fun with this game just building a powerful empire with only my crappy starting isle as a base. Sure, I've gotten a huge amount of freebies from pods, but I earned all of those- popping them all has been part of my plan since I landed the Observation Bay, and it is very satisfying to see it pay off =)

I may slow the pace of updates a bit from this point on. I've mostly just been talking about pod results, and while I will be opening more in the coming turns, their stocks have been massively depleted. Kind of feel like I'm hunting whales to extinction. I've also concluded my war, and I don't have another brewing right now.

Is there anything particular anyone wants to see or hear about from my game? I'm not sure if anyone is even still paying much attention to this game.

I do Bob, 1/3 because I am interested in the mod, 1/3 because I'm interested in your game and play and 1/3 because I hope to read sometimes that you want to start another one which I could then join.

Anyhow, good game so far. Obviously I think you should really start to think about how to reach your win condition. And also get more cities, you are first in everything but not by a large margin. An overview of your city screens would be nice btw, I would be interested in the amount of infrastructure you have built.
