I would like to remind people of something. When Lewwyn first revealed, one of the first posts I made against him was accusing him of attempting to neuter a name seer by admitting to his real name in thread, when he actually had a fake name. Lewwyn got *outraged* at that. "That's a terrible reason to vote" "How could my real name possibly be suspicious, that would negate the whole setup of the game" This is somebody who had a fake name, because his real name was so suspicious. Getting outraged at somebody who accused him of having made a choice not to use a fake name. He tries to set aside the stigma of his name by accepting it. A few days later, that purpose served, he suddenly "Remembers" that he had a fake name all along so he can give the impression of giving more information to the town. Pretty calculated.
Lewwyn I would submit is also suspicious due to his clear inclusion in the "Enemies of humanity" category of the victory condition. I may be focussed a little much on Lewwyn. But Lewwyn is a pretty important thing to be foccussed on. The enemies of humanity are the single biggest mystery we have been presented with in this game, and allowing Lewwyn to obfuscate and fudge round being an object of suspicion is just abominable. His argument that because I suspected him I am suspicious? Because I suspected an alien? It just pisses me off. I've played Alpha Centauri: Alien Crossfire. Maybe I'm one of the few who has... but Aliens are a big deal in the expansion and his inclusion in the game is such a monumental black hole of importance that I find it intensely irritating that it is getting as little attention as it has, and that Lewwyn is trying to slink his way into town credibility despite a red neon "Don't trust me" sign blinking above his head. Maybe my perspective is warped by the Elf feud, where I sat watching the town pass over chance after chance to lynch me, when it would ultimately have screwed them over at the end. Everything Lewwyn has said would ultimately be incredibly easy for a self-serving lyncher role to say. It's nothing but pleasing platitudes designed to minimize his apparent threat while not promising anything. If you all trust him, you're deluding yourselves. He doesn't need to be immediately lynched. But you can't trust him. And it looks like you are. Of the other subplots... The drone saga is the most urgent, and the least likely to be resolved without a lynch. We have Molach, Sareln and Brick. No more information is going to be revealed, so we'll just have to pick things apart with what we have. I still think Sareln is the most untrustworthy of the remaning. The mindworm issue seems intimately linked to Maniac. An anonymous message possibly from the mindworms accuses Maniac of being a roleblocker. The mindworms then send a message professing friendship, and one that is just warpy. I feel we can probably unravel it, although more days will probably add more information.
tally:
Lynch votes: Lewwyn (3) - jkaen, maniac, selrahc Selrahc (3) - Lewwyn, meiz, waterbat sareln (2) - molach, brickastley Injera (2) - Serdoa, bobchillingworth maniac - , zakalwe zakalwe - injera molach - , sareln not voting - thestick Planetary Governor (Mayor) Votes: serdoa(10) - maniac, thestick, meiz, jkaen, zakalwe, serdoa, brickastley, selrahc, sareln, injera waterbat (4)- bobchillingsworth, Lewwyn, waterbat, molach slightly over 3 hours until deadline
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
At first I didnt get it, guys. We're pretty sure we have 2 33% chances in front of us - drones (sareln, molach, brick) and no-names (selrahc, zak, jkaen). Then I remembered the unresolved neighbor triangle (thestick, injera, Meiz).
Drones: I thought sareln's long posts were good, but enough to clear him? No-names: have to agree that the posts against lewwyn add up to selrahc. I trust that lewwyn was informed Marr was evil. ( maybe he read this part of his PM wrong, too Neighbors: I thought for sure thestick would fall. He's gone lurker mode and wiggled out of the noose. So whose not in those lucky 9: Bob, lewwyn, waterbat, Serdoa, maniac. Presumably with 4 NAP I think it's likely we have 1 from each group. My OCD addled mind would like the symmetry of that. Too many people have their own agendas. I'd like to resolve the neighbors , others, the drones, others the no names. Maybe we should compromise and lynch maniac, I trust all the others in his group. X-posting a TON. Including bob's reminder on the neighborized triangle. All the way back to serdoa's injera vote. I'm on phone sorry guys slow. Also will be on phone until deadline.

I forgot the Waterbat subplot, but on that I would say waiting is heavily in our favour. What waterbat has said will definitely unravel if he is lying with a little more time.
As a summation, I would say that while what I really want is for Lewwyn to cut the bullshit and give us the goods. But I would also say he is a lynch that is unlikely to hurt the village.
Sorry for not voting yet, I couldn't make sense of any of this. And thanks Sareln, I guess I really wasn't thinking clearly.
The whole Drone thing seems too metagamey to me. Molach and Sareln arguing that the other Drone is an NAP 'because I know I'm a villager' sticks out to me, but I don't think it will lead anywhere. waterbat Wrote:At first I didnt get it, guys. Then I remembered the unresolved neighbor triangle (thestick, injera, Meiz). I'm pretty sick of how much metagaming is going on here, we're assuming there's one and only one NAP in those groups. We've come to the conclusion that Marr is hiding in the no-names because Lewwyn, the other alien, got a 'no name' fake claim'? I disagree with a Brick lynch. I don't think we should lynch him based on metagaming alone, especially if the metagaming argument rests on Sareln and Molach both being village. Agree with Selrahc posting almost nothing and sticking to the Alien business. So we're going to ignore that and try to focus on wolves instead? ...you know, I'm willing to believe that zak just is busy with other stuff. Can someone tell me why waterbat's role being verified makes him a villlager? I agree with zak, I think that Maniac is an NAP. His current Day 3 stuff makes him look like a village that's trying too hard but doesn't know what to say, but compare that to his 'logical' post and it makes his argument back then look even more suspicious. And this: Maniac Wrote:I think Bob is a likely candidate for NAP role-blockader. It would fit his name of Pirate Svensgaard, fan of naval blockades, well. Haven't we established that names don't indicate roles? Selrahc Wrote:The mindworm issue seems intimately linked to Maniac. An anonymous message possibly from the mindworms accuses Maniac of being a roleblocker. What makes you say it wasn't sent by wolves? An anonymous message shows up out of thin air, and you attribute it to a third faction?
More people have been to Berlin than I have.
I'm not in a subplot! I transcend the subplots!

Injera:
Day 1 1: open with lore vote on Sareln 2 + 3: lore posts 4: name reveal 5: role name quote bigger 6: Joking with Tasunke about role lore So far no substance. 7: first real substance, though still very little about Bob actually trying this game. 8: tries to dissuade Bob from voting novice and attack bob at the same time Injera Wrote:Quote: Originally Posted by BobchillingworthThe part you're missing is that if he flips village, the wolves will just hit the next person on their list. That is the first 18. Very suspicious given what we know now. Lots of fluff, lore posts, defending novice and attacking his attackers, defending Tasunke then hopping on the bandwagon. Pretty classic scum. I'm going to look through the rest in a moment but I want dot get this up. After going through Day 1 I'm confident enough to vote for Injera.

Lewwyn's list is almost identical to mine, http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showpost....count=1114
Top 4 NAP Selrahc Zak Sareln Injera Slightly suspect: Brick thestick People I trust: waterbat Serdoa Bob Lewwyn Molach People I believe are misguided Villagers: Jkaen Maniac --- I started out just with with basic neighbor role, no flavor texts regarding mindworms or any additional abilities. Then out of nowhere I received PM from bigger which stated that I gained "neutral amplifier" ability. Attacks from mindworms will fail against me. That's it. |
