lulwut? I'm voting for Injera. You have 2 votes on you. Injera has 4. I have 3. Are you paying attention? Waterbat and Meiz are likely going to hop off of you in order stop Nap from being able to snipe this lynch.

If you are worried, why aren't you voting for Injera? LOL napper...

Yes. I believe that Lewwyn isn't telling us all there is to tell. But I believe he is not NAP. Maybe he has his own agenda, I'm pretty sure he has. Selrahc is right on some points:

1. Why has Lewwyn a fake name? And btw: What is your fake name Lewwyn, I don't think you told us.

2. How believable is it that there is a role which sole purpose is to tell the village that Marr is a NAP? Especially given 1.

I have some ideas about what Lewwyn isn't telling us but I'd rather keep them till the next day when we have more time.

No I'm going to sleep now with a vote I'm the most confident with.

Though I agree with you I think Bigger didn't help it by including that many neighbour roles, telephatic links and stuff like that. Quite the opposite imo, we all felt, especially the first days, that something was off because half the village was either NAP or talking privately instead of hunting wolves in the game-thread.

If traction on Maniac doesn't form, other suspects are Selrahc and Sareln. Selrahc for tons of metagaming stuff and attacking Lewwyn just for being an alien, and Sareln for not saying much, then refusing to bring forth any actual accusation of guilt outside of the Drone stuff.

Sareln Wrote:So, if Lewwyn is village then Waterbat has his ability and spoke with the name seer. If Lewwyn is NAP, then Waterbat knows the ID of at least one other NAPper (the claimed name seer) or Waterbat is also NAP and he's thrown away uses of his ability or formed useless tunnels to other NAPpers as faking the ability for long term would require all of his partners to either be NAP or develop a very bad case of the dead.

Um, how did you conclude this?

Night 1:

19: Game Mechanics post

Day 2:

20: Thanks Catwalk - Makes interesting post:

Injera Wrote:Lewwyn, just to be clear, you're claiming that your power is that you know the "true" name of a NAP? Do you have a list of all the name claims so far?

So he knows that some NAP has a cover name?? My god how did I miss this earlier!

21: asks for list of names

22: "why did catwalk die"

23: Molach post, spreading suspicion onto someone I know perceive to be innocent. But still a good hunting post.

24: Responding to Molach, nothing hard hitting though.

25: clarifying thugs he did when he was a wolf, flavor and a short agreement

26: Responding to Meiz , Saying he has said something original. points to 1 thing.

Injera Wrote:I'm not trying to shut down discussion or anything, but I don't really see where all this is really leading us to a useful strategy to hunt NAPs. Even if we could comfortably say, "Yes, there is definitely a named NAP hiding amongst the nameless" (and plenty would disagree with that) how would we even use that information? Lynch the most suspicious nameless person each day? That doesn't seem like it's going to work out very well.

I guess, I'm feeling pretty numb to a lot of the discussion today. There's been some well-reasoned stuff (and some not), but it just feels way too premature to be worrying about it. Sure, if we have a name seer and the name seer catches someone, this is relevant. Or if it's closer to the endgame and our picture is more clear, sure. But now?

Okay so why not DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. Whay are you commenting on how nothing is being said instead of saying something? Action begets action. I don't see it here I see someone using confusion as a chance to say. "wow there's a lot of confusion here"

28: Agree that bad reasoning to vote Molach because catwalk suspected him, but saying thats not why he's voting for him.

29: Votes Brick, for reacting straggly to waterbed… Dunno about this one seems weird

30: More responding to Meiz

31: Votes Novice now that seer claim is in.

Day Ends

So again I'm not seeing anything here that leads me to believe that Injera is not NAP. I think that's a huge wolf slip in the first bit and then really nothing much solidly villager.

Got distracted again...

Looks like Lewwyn has beat me to the punch here, but this is just really weak. I don't think you would seriously read this as a calculated move.

On the topic of drones and aliens, I've been thinking for some time that a drone "possessed" by an evil alien seems like a pretty natural role. I.e. his real name would be Marr but his cover name would be drone. So I wish I knew for certain if Sareln was really scanned by the name seer. If I knew that he wasn't, I would be willing to scan him the old fashioned way. How sure are you about this, Waterbat?

About the neighbors, I've been thinking lately that they could all be innocent. If Bigger wanted to pad the role list to avoid vanilla villagers, neighbors seem like a good choice. That would certainly be less unbalancing than padding it with a bunch of commuters, like Jkaen (?) suggested. But my point still stands that neighbors are expendable, and it looks like Injera is turning into the most expendable of all: a lurking neighbor. Still, I'm not convinced he is guilty.

I still disagree with the "misguided villager" stamp that everybody is putting on Maniac. He has proven that he can be very logical when he needs to. Also, my previous pushes all gained traction but this one doesn't. So either my argument is crap or I'm on to something, and I'm slightly biased towards the latter. smile

Well I'm probably pretty deep in a tunnel vision at this point, where all I can do is watch Lewwyn do stuff and get angry at it. (Multiple much more pissed off posts ranting at both Lewwyn and all the people who trust aliens have been thrown onto the cutting room floor in favour of moderation this evening). I think Lewwyn is anti-town so I'm maybe just looking for things that prove it in a confirmation bias sort of way.

I should probably walk away and try to think about things calmly, but doing so will probably get me killed. By all the people who seem to trust him.

How is this a wolf slip, Lewwyn? Injera responded directly to you talking about a possible name seer, "who's got the name", and wanting a mass name claim. I mean, it's not like Marr would come forward and claim his real name openly, if you were telling the truth.

I know it's bad practice to intervene on someone else's behalf like this, but it's only an hour and a half to the deadline and that particular argument just doesn't hold up, IMO.

Its the fact that he says "true" name and uses quotes. Basically the way I see it he already has knowledge that someone has a fake name and is being careful to clarify that. I know it may seem be nothing but I'm definitely reading it that way.

I don't think that that is the most damning part of what Injera has done. I actually think that the majority of his posts are simply not decisive hunting posts. He defends Tasunke first and then votes for him. He attacks Molach on pretty shoddy grounds, gets flak from Meiz switches onto Brick. Then Novice happens.

Basically I know village Injera and the same directness is lacking. There's way too much role, flavor, fluff and joke posting throughout.
