I'd say just clutter up the thread. We still have the Captain's Log thread we can use to keep a good record of what happened, so let's just use this thread in whatever way is going to be most useful. Also, clutter does at least mean the team isn't dead =)

Good to see people reacting.
Part of the problem, from my pov, is that this is a sequential PB and there is more time between turns. But that's the game.
I don't want to be turnplayer.

I don't want to be a turn player either. But I will be a taskmaster if we need someone to stay on people's cases and make sure everything is getting done. Not my favorite job, but if we are just going to lapse again then it needs to be done by someone.

yeah unfortunately I really can't be a turn player right now either. I'm glad we're getting organized though.

At the moment I'm unconvinced they have any sort of plan on how to work together going forward, or are indeed involved in this game in any coherent way. As far as I can tell, this kind of situation can repeat itself next week. Or even tomorrow.
I don't mind a reload for a team that fell victim to an "act of god" chain of events.
I will not grant a reload to a team that's checked out of the game and collectively doesn't seem to give a fuck.
Mist, to be blunt, that post was extremely inappropriate for an admin of this game to make. It is one thing to call us out in our private forum, but posting it publicly in a way that could have a material effect on the game (diplo, how other teams make decisions regarding us) is out of line. I'd be upset if a regular lurker were to have posted it; for the admin of the game to post such spoilers is ridiculous.
On a more positive note, I agree it's nice to see us getting organized, although it still seems we don't have a turnplayer (unless you wanted to thestick, wasn't clear from your post). Dave, you around/settled in for the new term?

There had to be an explanation for the very confusing fact that I refused a reload despite all other teams agreeing to it. And I personally think that asking for a reload as you did while trying to carry on with no change apparent was a huge lack of respect to all the other guys that until now put a lot of actual time and effort into the game.
Yes, it was strong. Yes I do think you needed a public kick into your backside. No, I don't think it will matter if you shape up as a team.
Right now you got an extended pause to work out your issues. Do that, we'll reload and carry on having a proper game.

Hey guys. I can be turn player for a little while until someone is available? This is my first multiplayer game but I dont think it can be that hard to screw up in ancient age with 10 people giving collective directions. Having said that I am based in the oz so my time zones will not match anyone else's and I may miss out on some discussions. Up to you guys. Let me know.

Okay, sure. Time to poke Dave?

Sure thing! For turnplaying, we have thestick, Cornflakes, and kp? We're going with StM's suggestion, just whoever logs on first?
How do you use CivStats?

I'm good for turnplaying around 8-11pm ET USA, depending on the day of the week. I still do not know how to connect to a pitboss game though. I have Civ 4 BtS and I think the latest update (sometime 2009, something to the effect of FINAL BUILD/RELEASE ... or something like that, I don't remember exactly. I can check for sure later).
Also, our civ is passworded, right?
