WW15 - Chiron is a harsh mistress

Lewwyn Wrote:Just to be clear you can put all of this 3rd faction nonsense to bed. Yeah, I didn't tell you guys everything. I didn't tell you I had a vig power that only works on Marr (if I hit anyone else it fizzles) and that it only had two shots. So yeah I tried to narrow the field by get a mass name claim. Then I worked on surviving until I had narrowed the field down. Then I got lucky that Waterbat contacted me and that he had met the name seer and that the name seer had scanned Molach and Sareln(the alarm wasn't raised so I assumed that) confirming they were drones. That helped me narrow to Selrahc, Jkaen and zak (I had wasted a shot on thestick Night 2 before we found out about the neighboring). Selrahc was cleared yesterday during the festivities or I would have wasted my last chance on him last night. SO yeah sorry you died Serdoa, but I think the trade off was better because it forced me into a 50-50 shot on Jkaen and Zak. After that it was easy.

Zak hasn't voted for me.
Zak tried to avoid the mass name claim.
Zak wrote a cheeky Usurper msg to me in Pink.

Zak is dead.

Solid Lewwyn.

Wow.

Superb play, Lewwyn =) And sorry to see you go, Serdoa.

Two night kills but none by a third faction. If there is one, which would otherwise seem very probable, there's something going on behind the scenes.

With one of my three main suspects dead & confirmed a wolf, I think it's time to move on and see how Jkaen swings.

Also, what happened Selrahc?

Oh right forgot Lewwyn

But Lewwyn, why do you say that there isn't a third party in game when there were two deaths on another night? Your ability wouldn't have killed qgqqqq or slow cheetah (those were the two right?), so if there's no third party how do you explain that, as well as the mindworm immunity?

Oh yeah, that reminds me. Since Serdoa is dead, you must elect a new planetary governor. Same drill, mayor votes in green, lynch votes in red.
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.

Yeah my ability wouldn't have killed either. Personally I think its possible we have another vig. Catwalk had a shot and I had a shot but mine was really nearly useless if I didn't have an idea of who Marr was. Even if I had hit a NAPper he wouldn't have died unless it was Marr. Also possible for some hidden mechanism that some NAPper had like a onetime double kill or a linked kill. Its possible someone has an ability that if someone performs a night action on them they kill that person. Maybe Qgqqqqqq targets a player like this and died as a result. There's a lot of possibilities, but I think that the most likely is simply another village vig.

In the end this doesn't matter. Its simply another distraction IMO. If we focus on wolf hunting based on posts and voting we'll be fine.

Lets take stock.

Current Players:

Lewwyn
Waterbat
Selrahc
Bob
Molach
thestick
Meiz
Maniac
Brick
Sareln
Jkaen

I think there are only 2 NAP players left and I think they are both in the second half of this list.

-I hope I've put doubts to bed about my innocence at this point.
-Waterbat knew about my power and that I was going to hit Zak tonight. Emphatically Cleared.
-Selrahc revealed under pressure and I think if he were lying our name seer would have shouted. IMO Cleared.
-Bob has played well and stuck with Injera from the beginning yesterday. Cleared.
-Molach has given me village vibes for a while, plus his diary, plus his help with Injera yesterday. Cleared.

-thestick is mostly villager in my eyes. I wrote a post earlier about why I feel that and yesterday's effort at the end of the day did not dissuade me from that thinking.
-Meiz is currently more villagery in my eyes. I'm not sure what Serdoa was thinking with the PM stuff. I find it very hard to believe that there are two NAP Neighborers.
-Maniac has got to be a villager. I just can't imagine him being a NAP at this point. All I see is an inexperienced villager. Zak was trying to get a train on him started to save Injera I think because A) he didn't think a train against me would succeed, B) he wanted to save the Selrahc mislynch for the next day. But hey I could be wrong.
-Brick is a tough case because its still wrapped up with Sareln and I'm still not sure even though I'm leaning more innocent here.

-Sareln is NAP I think. He's played pretty well when he has posted. he's been organized and pretty on point and I think that's due to him having the cheat sheet. He reminds me distinctly of wolf Sareln in WW11 I think. Much more self-assured. Additionally in last night's voting he jumped on Selrahc, saw the claim, unvoted, then voted Injera. I think for a moment all he could think to do was unvote. Just escape from the now toxic bandwagon that was Selrahc. Then he got a second thought and immediately switched to Injera. Injera was going down, better bus ASAP.
-Jkaen needs to talk before I lynch him. Have we heard his claimed role title? What is it? What was he thinking yesterday? Who does he suspect?

I don't want to cause any confusion or presumptions, and if I don't think I can make myself any more of a wolf target than I already am, so I might as well state outright what I'm guessing is obvious for most people: I am the Name Seer.

Waterbat can confirm it. He sort of already did, when he ruled out everyone else earlier today by process of elimination tongue (which I assume is what Serdoa was referring to). I dropped quite a few hints about it & thoughts on name seers early on, which made me worry I had been too heavy-handed, but apparently not smile Knowing from the start that people had alternate identities is what made me trust Lewwyn's reveal of the Marr situation.

For my first scan, I picked Serdoa- obviously he was who he said he was. He hadn't claimed alignment seer at the time though, and I wanted to start out by scanning a WW vet.

Second scan was for Molach, which Waterbat inadvertently leaked. He's a drone.

Third scan was NOT Sareln, but instead Slowcheetah- I told Waterbat I intended to scan Sareln, I was going to up until a few hours before the submission deadline when I realized that it made no sense that Bigger would have given Sareln a suspicious name to claim if he had a hidden identity. I then looked through Bigger's intro posts and saw that he had indeed suggested there may duplicates for drones and/or workers. During I think Day Two Lewwyn had suggested the name seer scan Lal, and his reasoning seemed sound, so I went for it. Of course he ended up dead (and innocent), so that scan was wasted bang I ended up feeling pretty bad about that one.

Waterbat had suggested a code I could use to tell him who I had scanned in my posts, but at the time I had felt it was unnecessary (and more than a little dangerous) and told him I probably wasn't going to bother with it. I actually did try to tell him I had scanned Slowcheetah using his code anyway- the signal was a semicolon before the target's name, which I used before Slowcheetah in my big wall-of-text subplots summary post, but I think it got buried under all the words and Waterbat didn't notice.

Last night I did not scan Selrahc- I considered it (and suggested in this thread I would after his baner claim), but Lewwyn had said that he was sure that Marr was one of Zak or Jkaen. Both looked more suspicious than Selrahc, so I scanned Jkaen, who had brought my ire earlier by constantly pressing for the name seer to reveal himself, something which Marr would do. He's an engineer. His no-name name is vague enough that I'm not worried about giving away anything useful to the wolves by revealing it. Plus I think he's a wolf anyway wink

So that's my story. I'm not entirely sure my role has much more use left- Marr is dead, and Lewwyn never even used his pseudonym (probably for the best!). What I'll do now is take up the search for our mysterious third faction, scanning at nights for as long as I survive and revealing my results during the day. I'm going to keep my scan targets to myself until after I have actually scanned them however.

Hah bob. Classic. I saw the bolded sareln name in white ( a sure sign a player is clear, right ) and assumed you went through with the plan. I meant to go back and check what the code even was, but I forgot )

Even though I knew of llewyn's plan, I did try to get him to save his charge one more day - because I thought we could signal you to scan jkaen. But hard to argue that a 50/50 shot at night where it doesn't harm us ( kill the wrong guy) wasn't almost as good as a 100/0 shot. If he missed, we still corner the target.

Oh and bob basically outed himself early in day 2 of you were paying attention, I wasn't sure why Serdoa was jacked up about it. Although he didn't know the marr situation was about to resolve.
