Sure, I can do a city overview someone soon =)

I agree about needing more cities- got five pods in various stages of completion atm, and some cities working on pods now will start another as soon as their present builds complete. Cities cost very little now for me to support, so really the only obstacle to spamming them everywhere is the time it takes to produce pods and garrisons.

I'd really like to start another Planetfall game, because this mod is very fun for MP (different enough from BTS to feel new, faster opening than FFH). I'm in two FFH games in addition to this PBEM though, and I'm already spending too much time with this stuff, so I can't take on any more commitments for the time being.

Please feel free to go start up one yourself whenever you want to!

I'm lurkering both Planetfall PBEMS diligently. They've both been very entertaining.

I'll probably wait till you have finished some of your games. After that debacle PBEM32 was I am a little bit reluctant to simply open a game-announcement, not knowing who will join.

I'm up for another Planetfall game. If I know one will be coming sometime in the next month or so, I'd also be more motivated to work on a new patch. :D

Big update (in terms of images). I'll actually use spoiler tags for the pictures for once.

To start, I collected the last water pod in the north and one of only two or three remaining in the south:

Here are my selected city sites for the next dozen colony pods or so:

I'm not settling these in any particular order, mostly just as is most convenient. None claim any resources I urgently require.

Here are my current cities:

Fairly minor coastal town; will build a couple sea colony pods, and then finish the half-built Perimeter Defense. Most likely landing site if Selrahc invades my home island.

Filler. Eventually needs a Siege Tank for a garrison (cheapest unit I can build). Still worth having for commerce + Planet Points. Probably just going to build wealth or something after the Lab finishes.

Generates cash, can build military in a pinch. Starvation doesn't eat into the commerce flow too badly (only -2 gold).

Decent generalist town. I started the Pressure Dome because I wanted to then build a Lover's Tryst and run an additional Empath, but I decided that more Colony Pods were a better investment. I'll finish the Dome after the Pod just for the +1 hammer, +1 beaker technician, then start another Pod.

Strong city for only size 4. Will build a Sea Pod after the current Sea Pod, and then either garrison Marines or a third Sea Pod.

Supposedly the greatest city on Planet, although I'd disagree. High production means it's building Colony Pods, but there aren't too many more land sites I'm going to be settling for the forseeable future. Will probably start building a combination of Acolytes and various infantry garrison units after its Pod completes.

My capital. Needs to grow, so despite it being both a decent military and pod producer I intend the next build to be a +25% science Research Center.

I imagine this is the best size-2 city on the map. Despite having done almost nothing all game but supply a steady stream of units, this city really needs a better garrison. On the bright side, I don't think anyone is going to attack it soon. Despite the substantial temptation to build a Permieter Defense here, for now I'm going to keep making a combination of Choppers, Hyperians & Marines for the colonies. No need to both with Native Life, since I can hunt Native land units on the large island that holds The Ruins.

This city largely exists as a fortress and staging area. To that end, I'm going to have it build Choppers and Subs for coastal area control. Needs a Voice of Planet spread for the +2 exp.

A small but reasonably productive city which allows me to research at 90% with a surplus. Can build military at decent speeds in times of need.

See above. Also a good candidate for eventually getting a Perimeter Defense.

One of my best research cities. The Perimeter Defense helps form part of the system which protects the channel leading to my capital. Could eventually use a larger garrison, since it's in the line of fire for an invasion from Nic.

And saved the best for last:

Excellent city which will supply me most of my Transcends. Needs a larger garrison, although I think I can get by for the moment. Right now I'm trying to figure out what to build next- a 4 turn Sea Colony Pod at the present tiles configuration, a Command Center + Troops at the current configuration, or switch to food and/or additional empath specialists and then grow while more slowly building military. Right now I'm leaning towards the Pod, and then working food and running Transcends while building human military at half-productive capacity, switching to Native Life one growth has slowed. Interestingly, I only built this city to block easy invasion access to my capital. Also, one of the Nutrient Resources came from a lucky pod result.

Hunting pods to extinction:

Oh and this was really annoying:

Forgot that starvation did that. Really wish it didn't remove culture temporarily, since I lost +1 planet in every city for a turn (loss of Gin).

Took a look at the victory conditions screen. Was surprised to find that domination is based on map control relative to opponents, not total land tiles. That makes it a lot more doable, if I can launch a big invasion of Selrahc and take over his land. That's probably my best shot at winning, although I kind of want to see if a Planet win is even possible in MP (I'm thinking not, since my foes can abuse the Council and out-of-borders chopping to lower the FC). I don't want to squander my lead, but I'm also just not feeling too interested in launching a huge invasion of Selrahc at the moment. Maybe after I expand a lot more, I'll look at the percentages and see if I should bulldoze him over.

Good game, Bob. You made some nice calls in there.
