[SPOILER] ww15 Lurker thread - No living players allowed!

Agree with Sareln, points for originality but I'd rather it be disallowed somehow in future games.

are you referring to the off-topic post after your death? :P

No. smile I posted something in the game thread that I could point back to in support of a fake name claim.

And I even quoted it.
I have to run.

well molach's decision not to support an early day may well have consequences.. its looking like Brick may avoid the lynch.

non-NAP lurkers: Is this good for the village?

I've been thinking about this, and I can't figure out a way to phrase a rule that would ban it, without banning a lot more. No private notes? No diaries kept? Never allowed to have a thought and keep it to yourself?

Suppose Molach just made a text file with timestamped thoughts. Or to take an example that Sareln's done in the past, an Excel file. Is that wrong? How's that really different than a quicktopic copied and pasted? How do you ban it without essentially saying 'never do anything that's not in the main public thread'?

And how is any of this different than anything else posted in thread?

I wouldn't have an issue with a person keeping notes in a notepad and posting those notes in later. The primary nugget, I think, is that using the copy-paste or link to a forum dragoons the computer/forum software into making you look more trustworthy than you actually are.

A text file paste ends up being presented as "this is a bunch of text from Sareln" or even an excel sheet would be "this is an excel from Sareln". But the forum copy-paste over says: "these are posts from Molach at these times".

I guess it comes down to this; we need to be able to trust forums, just as we need to be able to trust the GM to get a good game of werewolf. So we shouldn't make roles that make it harder to trust the GM when he's acting as GM, and we shouldn't be creating situations where we look at a forum dump and have to decide whether or not it has been spoofed.

No. Should it be? :neenernee

----

Example: Computer Hack from the quickie WW game.

~ Day Power, 1 Charge.
~ Send a message of no more than (X) characters, and the GM will post it.

Good way to do it:

GM: "All turn towards the computer as a message appears on the screen: (X)"

Bad way to do it:

GM: "(X)"

pindicator Wrote:Well, if Lewwyn is a villager he gets to share in the blame for how poorly the village has done so far. Also, if he is a villager then I would bet zak is scum.

Edit: Gaspar, I liked your crankiness in WW12. I hope you choose to share that with us again some time :neenernee

Edit #2: Caught up on the recent activity in the game thread, and yeah - Lewwyn is starting to look a little more village. Maybe this is an inner timer of his that he doesn't start doing any actual work until day 4.

Heh, I'm often lazy. Day 4? Sounds about right.

Gaspar Wrote:Totally agree. I don't know he'd be my #1 target, but he'd still be on my list.

If I know Lewwyn he's trying to manage the dual effect of getting Jkaen talking/setting up Meiz for a slip and he'll try to start a train on Meiz on the second half of the day. I still sort of think Sareln might be the best target, though.

I was trying to see who voted where. After Meiz voted Sareln and well as everybody voted Sareln I had a sinking feeling it was going to be bad.

zakalwe Wrote:I will say this: I disagree with the planned scum night actions tonight. Just noting it, so I'll remember to comment further after the game.

But I don't think our night actions thus far were our main downfall; in fact, I'd say some of them were downright brilliant. Of course, with the benefit of hindsight they could obviously have been even better.

With my double vote it made some sense to save Lewwyn for an end game push. The Injera lynch was what really pulled the rug out under us. With a mislynch on day 4, our voting power would have been substantial on day 5, particularly if we all ganged up on Lewwyn. Had we known he had two silver bullets with my name on them, we probably would have killed him earlier.

Yeah. That's perfect. I assumed that's what you guys were doing with me and that's what I was trying to set you up to do. I just needed a few days to narrow down the my list of who Marr was.

zakalwe Wrote:Well, it didn't really occur to me. He knew my name and alignment, so I figured that was his weapon.

Again intentional with my original reveal. smile

Gaspar Wrote:Man, if Waterbat isn't NAP... hoo boy. That is some Roland in WW7-esque confusion sowing.

Seriously. If I weren't sure waterbat was innocent based on him knowing about my vig power before I used it and his help in narrowing the field for its use, I would be advocating lynching him.

Bigger Wrote:and, yes... there have been many people sowing confusion in this game (both intentionally and unintentionally). The setup was designed to introduce SOME confusion, but I severely underestimated how much confusion would be introduced by the players, so its gotten out of hand lol

QFT. I was getting really pissed off with the speculation. Just hunt wolves guys come on.

Gaspar Wrote:Also disagree here. If I had gotten one of those dreams I'd have dismissed it as nonsense and never mentioned it, which would have saved reams of virtual paper and ink spilled on nothing that's remotely helping the village.

Yeah. I would have kept it to myself.

Have to say I am not fully sure who the last 2 wolves are. I hope its Brick. And God do I want to lynch Maniac. Jkaen is either NAP or has played an atrocious game. I wish at least one villager had switched off Sareln to Jkaen like I asked. I even explained why he was the safer bet.

Truth is though that last day I didn't really have the time to put a ton of effort into things. I was preparing to come back to China so I had shopping, packing, last minute visits, family dinners and traveling. Basically there was no way I could give WW my full attention during the chaos. I was hoping to survive one more night as I would have had time once I was here in China.

I believe the village wins out though I can see them lynching another villager or 2 before the game ends. Its just incredibly sloppy play at this point.

I keep going back and forth on Meiz. Due to roles I don't think he should be NAP, but due to posts, votes and the tone of how he's placed those votes I can't see him as anything other than NAP.

Brick has to go today though. That after lynch post was A) annoying B) scummy. And God I wouldn't be surprised if Brick actually turned up villager at this point, but he needs to be lynched on principle.

Maniac is either the worst villager ever or the ballsiest NAP (or 3rd party planetary consciousness). I just couldn't bring myself to lynch him given how terrible his arguments were and how stubborn he was. I do think he's the one sending the dreams though. I'd bet a good amount of money on it.
