not 3, but 4!

Maniac had 1 time non-triggered night kill immune + 3 drones (2 charge triggered immunity).

Bobchillingworth Wrote:I disagree. Waterbat would have lingered for a long time, and I think I had enough cover to make it to the very end. Plus Selrahc lasted until the final day- heck, with Brick dead the village would have lost people even faster- Selrahc and I weren't hunting wolves with any particular focus until it was clear that we needed to kill the roleblocker to assure a win. Most of our night kills would have just been on villagers who seemed prone to looking for alternate lynch options outside of the patsies we had lined up (Sareln, Jkaen, Maniac).
I might have a minor detail wrong in the following, Bigger didn't keep me perfectly informed. But...

Village powers that were never used:

Three drone immunities
Santiago's immunity
Pindicator's no night kill ability
Vigilante shot

Village powers that weren't used to their potential:

Seer (I think Serdoa claimed too early)
Tracker (never caught anyone)

Village powers used to their full potential:

Marr-only vigilante shot

Village powers that were mostly irrelevant by design:

Neighbors, Self-watcher, Probe team immune

There were six mislynches, and only two scum lynches.

In addition, there was never a NAP/Planet friendly fire incident that went off.

This could easily have gone a different way if the NAP and worms had killed the irrelevant powers early instead of the strong ones. Or if you were lynched, taking Selrahc with you. Or a million other possibilities. I have to give this victory to the strong NAP and Planet play, not so much the setup.

This was so incredibly interesting to lurk.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

on that note, Serdoa's day 2 role-reveal was actually disasterous for the village. Woulda been better if he didn't scan at all day 2. Not that he could have known it, but:

If novice wasn't lynched, planet would have night killed novice. which means serdoa wasn't outted and could keep scanning, maybe catch another wolf (or scans an innocent mattimeo as he intended, preventing day 3 mislynched). Also means pindicator doesnt get night killed, so he could use his ability on night 3, which would have kept Slowcheetah AND the tracker Qgqqq from being night killed!

Woohoo. As I said at the start of the wolf thread: "Despite the fact I've won the last two games as a wolf BRick, I'm pretty terrible at it (Tebow Wolf!)" The magic continues! lol

The dynamic was really pretty interesting. I'll have to read the planet thread, but it seems interesting that both Bob and waterbat thought they were playing each other respectively.

There was some criticism of the village in the lurker thread, but in retrospect it's important to keep in mind they had very little voting power towards the end. waterbat and Bob steered the respective factions away from their teammates- up until the last night, as long as they didn't go after one of the other bad guys you had this 4 person voting block, if necessary. It's easy to see how Brick escaped the noose looking back.

nice that it came with the caveat of clearing me for a while.

can you check your email for messages from Injera in your topic. Particularly one where it says:

"Did you just call out Molach for being a drone... I mean, it's okay you know in an honest way"

OMFG that is awesome!!
Wow I was hesitant in-game, but once I was lurking I was f***ing certain there were no mindworms at all!
Yeah does explain why BRick didn't get lynched, I was certain he was a wolf by the end.

Yes, and for some reason it didn't click. Here's what I got:
Did you just call Molach out as being a drone waterbat? I mean,
it's okay since you know in an honest way, but...

I thought he was thinking to himself out loud or something. I thought he was saying it out of disbelief instead of actually asking you.

And I didn't even notice the message was edited. Wow, I screwed up there.
