3 * (difference in hammers) + 5, as I recall.

I've found Warrior->Axe to be 80g and Knight->Cuir to be 50g for instance. Both of those fit with a slight variation: [3 * (hammerdif + 5)] + 5 Perhaps that's it? scooter Wrote:This isn't quite accurate. Might be +30 on normal speed. SevenSpirits Wrote:Which equals (3 * hammerdif) + 20. That sounds familiar, I bet that's it. Might be +30 on normal speed. To clarify, both of those examples of mine were actually normal speed examples, so I suspect it's actually +20 on Normal. If there's a speed difference, I'd bet it's just a straight .67 * upgrade cost. scooter Wrote:To clarify, both of those examples of mine were actually normal speed examples, so I suspect it's actually +20 on Normal. If there's a speed difference, I'd bet it's just a straight .67 * upgrade cost. Aha. There wouldn't be a difference to the hammer cost portion, because hammer costs are already adjusted by game speed. Now that I think about it, the flat $20 stays too. Example from pbem39: trireme (33) to caravel (40) would be 20 + 3*7 = 41, and that's what it was there.
Thanks guys! So, the whole plan to upgrade/assault is doable, if expensive. I need something, because the power ratios are not improving. Nor are the crop or GNP ratios. MFG...um, I don't want to talk about it.
I'm actually improving the MFG quite a bit, with levees coming online. All around the empire, I'm timing things so that I'll be able to overflow into factories the turn Assembly Line comes in. I've built the two levees where they make sense, beyond that I'll just be ignoring them as it takes too many turns for them to repay their value. My fillers are growing fast. Mosp is trying to grab third-ring and the Kiki coal before the Chinese claim it for good...I could certainly capture their city there, it's just a question to me of how much its worth. Just keep whipping... It really is crazy-awesome for fast these cities are coming online. I'm still very nervous about four turns from now dying to a blitz, but if I could manage to get them online, I'd be in great shape long-term. One question is factory or forge first, Org factories are only a few hammers more, but then the coal plant means a forge comes online faster. If I can stand the crippling health, of course. Finally, it looks like the RNG is telling me to try for something fun, eh? I wonder how capturing and bombing the Chinese moai would go... Mist spoke to me earlier, I told him I was still having fun. I'm a little bummed about him miserably still plugging away, but I have to try this cool corporate route.

So, pretty standard turn. The Chinese rail network is up and running, so good luck attacking overland now.
That's okay, boss, wasn't planning on it. Still working hard on developing all the good things. I finished the bank in Riffington, so I'll kick off overflow into an Org factory. As can be seen, I'll also grab the farm back to grow to size 19 and have a food surplus to combat the vicious unhealthy of the coal burners. Mining Inc will be supporting an increasingly large amount of the economy, we're almost at the point where Riffington can just rake in corporate profits and build wealth to carry the entire economy singlehandedly. Because I like overflow, but I also like power, I whipped a lot of rifles this turn. Six, to be precise. Hum, what happened to them? Need more cannon, but mostly we're about ready to rumble again. Combustion next, then it's screwing the Colossus and heading hell-for-leather toward Flight.

Well, it's a pity about the delays in getting here, because the Assembly Line line is everything we could have ever hopped and dreamed it could be. Filler locations rejoice; your whips about about to be *very* effective. How about 60h/pop? I love Org in the Factory era.
Oh course, need about twice my land to counter Gaspar fully. Maybe I ought to make another offer for Palaven, I can squeeze two more gulags in there. I'm saving gold right now...how sad is it that I'm in second in all these demographics? In the core, there is only one mission: Factories, factories, factories. I love Org, allow me to proclaim that once more. My cities will be pumping out infinite infantries as soon as possible, here, and will be stinking pits of unhealthiness too. Need to push out a GM for Sid's for whipping. Here's the front. More and more force will be staged in Sasha, just need to amass a critical mass of cannons for the strikers. All of my rifles and infantry have Pinch, whereas only the brutally well-trained Cadeum boys from China do. Theocracy is my Final Solution here. Let's play something bloody.

But first! Yeah, need more naval stuff. Tons of machine guns put the kibosh overland. Hopefully its mutual.
On the plus side, old culture means... Which means... To small victories!
