Epic Seventeen: Preliminary Results

Here are the preliminary results from Epic 17. Please let me know if there are any mistakes:

Most interesting I think is the fact that we had ZERO Conquest victories submitted. I guess everyone metagamed themselves out of the most obvious victory condition, eh? No one went for a UN Diplo victory either, although that makes more sense. Everyone was victorious, and we had some very impressive finishing dates.

Yep, it was a high turnout and some great reports

I was impressed with all the early spaceship launches. Those top four dates are excellent! I've never gotten close to those dates for reaching alpha centauri.

Looking forward to playing epic 18 seeing as I missed out on epic 1 the first time round.

Gah! And I was too much of a chicken to try a Conquest victory.

(And, bummer, you should comment the rest of reports, too. It always helps to have a good game analysis.)

I agree - a very impressive series of dates from all players. I think it's apparent that the players that have stuck with CivIV all this time have become rather proficient. No longer can I write-off most players with from being in contention to win an event - these days almost everyone returns strong scores.
