Waterbat, you might as well have posted the word "chicken" 50 times because it'd be about as meaningful as that post you just made.
Tasunke, same with your self vote.
On that topic, can we ban the mayor self-votes? Part of the supposed value of having a mayor election in the game is as a discussion point, and people self-voting and saying "oh but I know I'm a competent villager!!1111!!11" makes for a very dull conversation topic.

I should add that this is NOT a call for Catwalk to elaborate on why he's busy this week-end. I am not out to deprive him of his privacy. I just didn't think Injera's defense of Catwalk made much sense.
Tasunke Wrote:clearly that Tasunke is suspicious.
I agree.

zakalwe Wrote:Why do you think that? I can truthfully say that I'm pretty busy on all week-ends. I could easily take it one step further and claim that I have no time to post, at all. (Sometimes I really don't.) If I thought a lie like that was my best shot to win I would do it in a heartbeat.
Sure, I've been there too. I just don't see a wolf Catwalk opening the game by saying upfront, "Hey, I'm going to be busy so don't mind if I lurk" if he really wasn't going to be busy. It just seems a little too bold for him. More likely, he's really busy and it doesn't tell us anything about his alignment.
If Tasunke's going to troll us all game, he get's the Bob treatment from Lewwyn's game.
Sorry if I struck a nerve Zakalwe, was just playing really - we haven't interacted much in a while.
I don't claim my Catwalk theory to be highly meaningful, but I think Injera's knee-jerk defense of him is pretty interesting. Even moreso that he basically completely ignored Zak's clarification.
Also agree that self-votes for Mayor are weak - far more interested in what people think of others.
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?
I currently don't have a mayor vote, but I'm votingTasunke right now. No leads at this point, and I know he was kidding, but self votes just annoy me.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Tasunke for the noose.
Lewwyn for mayor.
They are a bit behind the times as you say - buy the technological challenge lies not in the wifi itself, but rather in the capacity injection/ back haul layer. How does one get wirespeed responsive bandwidth to those access points your smartphone will easily connect to? I participated in a designs for various transit agencies who had similar issues. Also dealt with some designs for a similar service now deployed on airplanes. It's harder than it sounds

Say what? Zak's "clarification" had nothing to do with the point discussed. I'm "defending" Catwalk because I think your theory is a poor one. In fact, you could have made it against almost any other person who said they weren't going to be around much the first day.
Plus, I just find it obnoxious to use someone's real life commitments as a sign of alignment. Even if you could make the argument that someone who claimed to be away was slightly likely to be a wolf, these games require a little bit of trust from everyone involved.
