From WW15:
Molach Wrote:My wolf MO - build trust early, later on in the game when it becomes difficult to talk about anything without giving away oneself or fellow wolf enter lurk mode. Lurking at start of game is kinda stupid for wolves - it's noticable and not needed as there is plenty to talk about.
We should look for 'blenders' rather than lurkers. Blending in by posting fluff and safe votes, not silence. Anyway.
this is spot on. I certainly wasnt trying to blend in the game - but as I looked at my fellow NAP, it certainly seemed like that is what they were doing at the time.
of course his very next sentence was:
Quote:I get villager vibes from waterbat
have to tweak you a little bit, Molach

I was in a hurry to post and go to bed yesterday, as my wife's offered bribe for going to bed early expired very shortly after game start. I was also in a hurry to get showered and ready for the trip this morning (we left at 7:00 and it's against my beliefs to get up before 6:00), so I did a quick read through and adressed the accusations against me in what I thought was a somewhat bureaucratic manner. No, I don't have a set of planned openings. Nor was this one planned, only to the extent of "I need to post something fast after game start as I really don't have time and don't know if I'll get on tomorrow morning". I perused the role list and decided to throw in some quick bureaucrat RP, as that's finally a role I can actually relate to.
I'll defend myself a little better tonight (wifi is no problem here, and I will have most of the evening free) and hopefully offer some thoughts on scum hunting. I will unvote for now, not going to cast a mayor vote either.

well, personally I don't think the term 'trolling' even applies on day 1.
first: no voting analysis can be done. Swirls of fumes and mist is all that applies.
second: due to the nature of the game, anything short of an utter lack of participation (aka Bob's random shouting of nothingness) would certainly not count as trolling.
and third: no night kills, power uses, or anything else have occured to allow even 'meta' speculation. Although I know vote analysis is the best kind, I find both personality tests and meta speculation in the same 'more or less acceptable' category.
and finally, not in the list of points, but I might as well come out and say that I am a vanilla villager. Nothing, in my mind, panicky about such a claim ... since yea, I have no powers, big whoop
So yea, I guess I'm just a pretty face for this game

Wouldn't you have a better read on somebody who had actually posted?

No, not day 1 and only 5-6 hours into the game. Lewwyn vote as good as any other. Hell, I almost voted lewwyn due to the chicken logos.

uberfish Wrote:Now the original post wasn't so bad, but THIS is defensive (no comment on anyone else in the game...) and having a long list of villager openings doesn't sound particularly genuine to me. Who on earth has a long list of openings in this game? This isn't chess. You are sounding like scum trying too hard to appear to be contributing.

Waterbat and tasunke, are you two trying to get yourself lynched? and I agree with Rowain that Jkaen saying that vote #3 on tasunke is trying to force a claim is ridiculous.
I still think its marginally better than a joke vote which was my only other option at this stage.
And as a wolf do you not think directing a bit of pressure on tansuke early knowing he often role declares early would not be worth a no risk swing?

The annoying thing about Tasunke besides his frequent odd digressions is that when you try to get clarifications he doesn't answer your questions, or answers something you didn't ask. And now Waterbat is answering questions for him.
Still, I'm going to move my vote to Thestick, as his 20 questions post is my only real scumtell so far, and Zak picked up on it independently, which makes me feel more confident about it.
Thestick
I have to run.
