Maybe I should also bite my tongue, but I also think it's silly to halt all discussion just because the person being discussed isn't around right now.

Ichabod Wrote:My problem with Gaspar post is his fifth comment. This one:

"[*]Catwalk finds he has time to play."

What does it have to do with the rest of the post? As far as I can tell, nothing.
Huh? That fifth point relates pretty clearly to points one and two. Catwalk started drawing heat based on the theory that he was deliberately lurking. He then promptly delurked. I don't think it's strange to regard this as suspicious, and as far as I can tell, this is pretty much exactly what Gaspar was getting at.

Ichabod Wrote:His case in this post, as can be seen by his vote, was against Injera.
Again... huh? It was quite clear IMO that he suspected Catwalk and Injera as a scum pair. He couldn't vote for both of them.

Injera Wrote:Yes, his case against me seems to crucially involve both Catwalk and I being wolves, otherwise his evidence wouldn't make sense, but he can't bring himself to say that. Just like the line I posted earlier about Catwalk- in context it was clearly meant as some sort of justification to his vote, but later he claims it was only meant to be something to keep in mind for the future.
I disagree with pretty much all of this. Most crucially, I don't think it was unclear that he suspected both of you.

Injera Wrote:You pointed out that the read, "Catwalk would lurk if scum" was a good insight but ask yourself why is it there in the first place?
Ok, I asked myself that. I guess the answer is... because he has good insight into Catwalk's personality? (Or at least, because I think that he does.)

How would Gaspar being scum grant him better insight into Catwalk's personality?

Or are you saying that Gaspar would only share this insight if he were scum? (That makes no sense, either.)

I recall gaspar saying his vote for Catwalk was a joke one. But that's not exactly the point. It's more subtle than that and hard for me to explain.

Either way, it's not a big thing. As you can see, I'm not voting yet. But I felt in need to share that particular view.

And, by the way, catwalk announced in the pre-game thread that he was going to be away (he made a joke about beeing a weekend to drink), so from the start everyone could know he wasn't faking his absence.

He backed off of this when asked. He suspects me independently of Catwalk despite his own argument relying on it:

Gaspar Wrote:Well, I suppose I am. But I could also conceive a wolf Injera who knows alignment could be defending Catwalk here to gain cred when he does die. I see a wolf Catwalk and an innocent Injera as a less likely scenario.

zakalwe Wrote:Ok, I asked myself that. I guess the answer is... because he has good insight into Catwalk's personality? (Or at least, because I think that he does.)

What I was getting at is why did he say it when he said it? He was justifying his vote on Catwalk at the time. Here's what I said earlier, you don't need to agree with the read but I hope you at least can see where I'm coming from here:

Gaspar Wrote:(Catwalk vote was a joke vote, but not going to lie that starting the game with that post seems very Molach-ian. Catwalk also strikes me as someone who would lurk if scum, since he'd probably not be at all comfortable with it.)

I bolded the "also" because it's important- your view that Catwalk would be more likely to lurk as a wolf didn't come out of thin air, it was an expansion on your partial defense of of your "joke" vote. So yes, you were saying that Catwalk was (more likely than chance) scum, as you were justifying your vote on him. And using his "lurking wolf" nature as evidence implies that he was playing up or lying about his limited access as an excuse to lurk more.

Not exactly backed off. He was asked why he didn't vote for Catwalk instead of you, so he made the case that you could also be scum independently of Catwalk. Logically, he would either have to argue that or move his vote to Catwalk.

At any rate, I've definitely taken way too many bullets for him at this point. He probably should clarify why he voted for you instead of Catwalk. That seems to be the crux of your argument, and also something Ichabod was getting at, indirectly.

And I think I do see where you're coming from, for the most part, but the things you are pointing out don't really seem scummy to me. In short, I still think thestick is a much better lynch.
