Catwalk Wrote:Bigger, I put a vote on you (with at least half a reasoning) and your only reaction is to say I look townie? That smells a little wolfish to me. I also like the case against thestick.
you didn't present an argument at all, you just said you liked Pindicator's argument. Pindicator's argument was day 1 fluff, imo, and there was little need for me to defend myself from it as others did so for me while I was asleep.
You seem townie to me. Next time I'll keep that to myself and let you defend yourself, since you are apparently so good at doing so :neenernee
funny that you're voting for me while you also find my candidate for the lynch suspicious, though.
Injera Wrote:What have Zak and Gaspar done to earn your trust? What makes you think thestick and I are suspicious?
Zak has made a pretty good argument against thestick, no need for me just to restate what he has said. I'd like to see thestick respond to it, so its staying there at least until he does.
as for the other 3, its mostly intuition - the game hasn't been active 24 hours yet, so I don't have much more to go on. I think Zak and Gaspar are generally readable, and I'll be paying attention to them, and certainly open to changing my mind. As for you - well it is mostly gut, like I said, which is why my vote is currently on thestick and not you =).
Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you.
Pindicator, thank you for explaining. I've thought a bit more, and I think thestick's opening post was a little "leady."
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
Injera Wrote:I know you were exaggerating, but wouldn't thestick have to be bit more devious to write that post than our experience with him shows?
Is he normally not devious as a wolf? I just remember lurking last game and him immediately striking me as not at all scummy, unlike today.

Going now to standard day 1 reactions I guess I now shift to somebody who voted for me, Rowain seems to always find me suspicious, so I vote Meiz as he should know better
I did not get the impression that you thought of him as vanilla town or mafia. You just declared him as villager. What should I know better?
I didnt declare him as anything, I justsaid the wolves had seen him claim. Of couse they know if he is village or not.
As for know better I meant leaping all over a post that had been stated by the poster to be very weak, but somehow holding it up as if I had decided there and then I knew 100% tansuke's role and alignment without question despite me saying up front it was a weak argument
Regarding the mayor vote. Even if it's boring when everybody self-votes, my vote really doesn't belong on Uberfish. I haven't seen any town tells from him yet.
I have a very slight town lean on Novice, for reacting to thestick's post similarly as I did. It doesn't mean we're right, but it might mean we see things from the same perspective. So I guess that means the policy lynch is out, for now.
Also a very slight town lean on Serdoa, just based on his tone.
Beyond that, I have a healthy distrust of pretty much everybody.

In his first game he was a wolf. Last game, I was his neighbor. I saw him trying earnestly to hunt wolves and still the village was all over him; the NAP wasn't even trying to get him lynched. So I'm leary of a "case" against someone who in the past has been viewed as wolfish, especially on the basis of one post.

No offense, but I'd feel a lot better if Novice was mayor than you right now, if you'd like to move your vote.
