Maybe it's time to send a greetings message to TEAM
Quote:TEAM
It's been some time since your scout came to visit our capital, and we are already tired of waiting for any message from you, so we decided to be the first to say:
Hello
Menagerie Trois

New proposal for the first message:

I am going to try to compose a message to TEAM (now that we're right up against their borders with our scout). They never even bothered to reply to our fist message that was sent on Sep 30th. So hopefully they'll at least reply to a second message now.

Since I would like them to see it before they make their movements this turn, and before I move the scout this turn, I'm going to send this quick message to TEAM:
Quote:Greetings TEAM,
It has been awhile since we last tried to contact you, but since we have now run up against your borders we figured we should attempt to open a line of communication again. As you can see, the Trolls have graciously allowed us to pass through their borders with our scout. He had run into a dead end, cornered by their borders and the ocean, so they have let us pass through. They told us we would run into you if we followed this road of theirs, but we did not expect it to be immediately upon starting our movements. We did not know you both had cities right up against each other.
We are planning on sending Capra east of the Trolls to what would be the land south of you. This is a peaceful exploration, and we ask that you allow him to do so.
If there is anything else you would like to discuss, please let us know. Right now our nations are far enough apart that nothing we do at the moment should really affect each other for quite some time.
If anyone sees this post and has any issues with the message, let me know. I'll probably send it within the next hour since this is about the time that Lewwyn usually plays their turn.
EDIT: Message was sent this morning.

That's fine, HAK. Did Lewwyn respond?

I meant to post an actual turn update today while I was at work, but it was a busy day back after the holiday. In that report I was going to mention that our Scout over by TEAM is now trapped by their borders because of one of the new cities they just founded. I sent an in-game diplo message to him asking if he would be cool with Open Borders so our scout can get out. Mentioned that he can feel free to cancel the OB after 10 turns if he so desires.
I'll send an actual email message with the same details before I head to bed if I can, otherwise I'll send it tomorrow.

Btw, apparently Lewwyn never got any of the other email messages we had sent as he doesn't check (or doesn't have access or something like that) that team mailbox. Any email should go to his name at gmail. I did mention the scout in a quick PM conversation I had with him and he'll think about it. Though he's considering actually leaving our scout trapped.

Below was my PM talks with Lewwyn last night:
Lewwyn Wrote:HitAnyKey Wrote:Lewwyn Wrote:HitAnyKey Wrote:Do you check your team's email account (team.excellentangermanagement@gmail.com)? I had sent a couple initial communications awhile back and never even got a response, so now I'm not sure.
I was going to send another one, but figured I should check with you via PM first. Our scout is now trapped by the new city you built, so we would like to have Open Borders so he can at least leave and head back south. If you want to then cancel the OB after 10 turns, we're fine with that if for some reason you don't want the OB longer than that. But we would appreciate it so our scout can return back towards home.
Thanks.
No send them to me at Lewwyn gmail. I told you that in a diplo screen msg in game but I guess you didn't see that.
Haven't decided about the scout. I'm considering leaving him there. Yeah, I haven't logged in since I sent that Diplo message, so haven't seen the reply yet. And please do let him out. He's a nice guy and he would get very sad being locked up like that.
Yeah but that wasn't my fault. I think you intentionally got him trapped so you could weasel OB.
HitAnyKey Wrote:He was already on his way back south after exploring as far north as he could. I had no idea you were going to plant a city last turn that would block his return path. So there was no weaseling to be done. I had expected he would be able to return the way he game without having to pass through anyone's borders. Lewwyn Wrote:If you want you may wardec and pass through along the coast. I won't kill it. HitAnyKey Wrote:Oh, ok. If that's ok with you, then that also works. That prevents us from getting any benefit from the 10 turns of Open Borders, which I guess is what you were wanting to avoid? Then we make peace again after the 10 turns of war?
He played his next turn and I'm logged in right now to play ours before I go off to work. He hasn't replied to that last PM yet. I'm going to finish getting ready for work and see if he replies. If he replies in the affirmative I suppose I'll declare war and send the scout southward through the coast of that city of his blocking us.
Oh, and future communications I'll do using the gmail account.

Maybe we should send a message to at least some of the others (maybe we can leave Gillette confused!) saying that it isn't a real war; it was on Lewwyn's suggestion so we could pass through his borders. They might get the wrong idea otherwise, and we might get a reputation as psychopaths!

If you get bored and feel like it, go ahead and work up a greeting message to the new TEAM. You'll probably need to either PM the new guy to ask for an email address to use for diplomacy communications, or just send the diplomacy via PM. I'd start by asking if there is an email you can send it to, and provide him with our team email address.
As for when we get to sending the official diplo message, now that they're under the reigns of a new leadership, we should see if they'd want to have Open Borders. We can mention that for whatever reason, Lewwyn didn't want to have OB with us. But if that is something they'd like, we're good with it.
With us being on opposite sides of the continent, us forming a good peace between us would be good. Especially with the Trolls building up so big between us.
