It was an idea for spell disabling... but if that doesn't work... then maybe we can bop 'im on the head with a decomposing fish and hope for the best! [Image: smile2.gif]

Is there a plan for this evening's festivities?

Will we take a crack at Mallyx? Or is another HM dungeon on the slate? And can I wheedle you guys into a Forge run, since Rye has all of the materials for Obsidian Armor? thumbsup

On a related but totally non-serious subject, has anyone but me thought about how silly some of the crafting requirements for armor are? Monk Obsidian Armor requires 350 bolts of cloth. One bolt of cloth is 15 yards of 44" wide material - to give you an estimate, a tailored long sleeved shirt takes around 3.5 yards. 350 bolts would make the wearer look like a gigantic beachball about 10 feet in diameter - I guess it would be devastating, as all enemies would be crushed as the wearer rolled over them! lol

It's about the surplus needed to overcome all the wasteage Hawkmoon. All the intricate little bits needed to bond to the obsidian as well as perform impact absorbing functions of armour etc etc. leaves a lot on the cutting room floor. [Image: thumbsup.gif]

As for Hard Mode dungeons, Ragnar needs Frostmaw's Burrows and his journey through Hard Mode dungeons will be complete. [Image: smile2.gif]

Mallyx? Yes please. I was among the first of us who were ready there and I'm still waiting to sink my teeth into it. [Image: tongue.gif]

Underworld Conquered! [Image: thumbsup.gif]

The turn out was enough to justify two teams. Team A dived right in. Team B (who I thought was initially just waiting on me and turned out to be waiting even longer for Docile) headed off to The Bone Palace first for a crucial elite skill cap before descending into Grenth's realm a half hour behind.

Both teams got the full clear and Underworld Chest. Good job all. [Image: smile.gif] It was a fun, if epic journey. Let's not do that again for a while, eh? [Image: lol.gif]

What next?
  • We still have have some people stuck at The Foundry.
  • I really want to hit Frostmaw in Hard Mode now.
  • Mallyx!
For easier outings Hawkmoon is still in need of the trip to the Eternal Forgemaster for an Obsidian Armour and Courin might want some company on Eye of the North Primary quests. Zedf is closer to becoming EotN Hard Mode capable with a character at Heart of the Shiverpeaks last I heard.

Very nice run! It took us a lot of time (4 hours and 20 minutes) but it was very satisfying. One moment of almost panic was when we found ourselves surrounded by the Vengeful Aatxes: these were inches away from aggroing the Keeper, so after we teleported away to kill the soul keepers, we were quite worried...

But in the end we managed it without too many efforts!

Well, aside from a certain terrorweb aggro... rolleye

Sorry for the flag sign on Sousuke, I hope someone has a better pic. smile

I'll try to get the Foundry this week! So next Saturday we can kill the monkey... hopefully. hammer

Mandatory edit... The World Record for UW clear is 35 minutes. 00.35. Guess what, in HM. We still have a bit to learn!

You sure about that? Most experienced UW teams with lots of Ursan and PvE skills take ~2 hours for a full UW clear according to what I read on GW Guru. 35 minutes sounds really short, given the amount of to-ing and fro-ing you have to do. Maybe if there were no monsters in the way... wink

I was thinking 35 minutes sounds about right for clearing all the smites in a farming run... which is the other use of the word clear I've seen in reference to UW. Or maybe they mean Tombs, which is sometimes referred to as Underworld.

I'll leave you the link so the page doesn't clutter up with images...

There are other screenshots from the same group, different persons. Needless to say, it's really impressive. Their build is made of two ursans, a sin who mimics Ursan when he's with the main group, two Terratanks and three monks, one of which has Arcane Mimicry as well.

So mostly Ursan, splitting and consumables. That time is really hard to attain even with Ursan though!

Ah, it makes sense if they are splitting but not losing kill speed as a result of it. Gotcha!

The day's round up:

1.) Foundry of Failed Creations. We were definitely "failed creations" in this ill-fated slog to the jumbo Dementia Titan spawn.

2.) Slaver's Exile - Forgewight. Probably a guild record as we chewed through Stone Summit like Lionel in the lawn mower scene from Braindead.

3.) Foundry of Failed Creations. A full team who fought through with few full blown retreats (say that out loud 10 times in quick succession) and barely a near miss, the rematch and success was overdue. Can we pound Mallyx now?

4.) Vloxen Excavations. Vort showed up and suddenly a coda to the gathering was hastily (45 minutes) thrown together introducing at least one of us to this dungeon for the first time. It was probably the easiest cruise through here I've been on. It can be a pain on the respawns in Level 3, but even backtracking to the boss chamber we managed to out run those by at least 15 seconds.

Next week... MALLYX! [Image: smile2.gif] (c'mon, y'know you wanna)

Not sure if I'm going to be around for this Saturday's (or next Saturday's, for that matter) extravaganza - there's a high probability that we'll be camping both weekends, and even though some of the campgrounds have WiFi, I'm not going to count on having an actual working connection in our trailer.

Don't let me hold you up, though, if you get a quorum for Mallyx - I'll catch you on another round. lol
