I want to found a base on that outcropping that is surrounded by a long trench and probably another one somewhere farther north.

I think we'll need better landmarks than that. I currently intend to put a base 1N, 2W of the polar highlands between our empires, sometime very soon. I suppose I could move it to 1N, 3W without cramping my cities too badly. I also plan a base 4S, 2W of that highlands tile. I think that would allow you to put a base 1N of that icy mountain.
As for 'further north' - I would like to found a base grabbing the jungle DNA on the peninsula (you already have a copy), and maybe the Brilliance as well, but other than that I don't intend to push any closer to you. Would that work? You'd have a couple bays that frankly involve too much land for my people to be happy settling there.
All the bases I intend to found near you will be Sea Bases. And, no offense, but I intend to keep a naval presence in the area, and perhaps some Perimeter Defenses as well. Just in case.
On an unrelated note, I see you have the Manifold Nexus, and also seem to be ignoring your Planet rating. What sorts of things would interest you in trade for it?

Yes, this can work. I'd settle 1N of the icy mountain and I'd like to have at least 1st ring at sea in my culture (and the trench end 2N1E of the site, which seems to be ouside your BFCs anyway). You'd get all 4 bonus tiles within 2 tiles of the icy mountain.

There are 2 DNAs over there. I'm OK with you having the NW one, but not both. I'd like to found a base SEE or SSE of the SE DNA, including it in my BFC. I'm OK with the Brilliance. At some point in the future I also plan to found a base SSS or SSSW of the Brilliance, it shouldn't overlap with anything yours.

I get happy from military police and I'm healthy enough. How about energy? You'd get 1 shrimp per base, assuming a shrimp is worth 2gc (I have no idea if it is, you shrimp-huggers seem to find it valuable) that'd make 20gc/turn, say, for 30 turns.

Hmm, I must not have scouted the other. It's 1SE of the one on the very tip of the peninsula? If so, I don't really see a way to take the Brilliance and the Jungle DNA without overlapping your BFC with mine, so I'll settle for just the DNA.

Forget I asked. It's worth having, but not at that price! 600 credits would buy me another tech in the Planet line, just about, and that would come with permanent benefits.

Excellent . Those credits are burning a hole in my pocket.

I have two Fungal Gin in my territory, and am researching Centauri Meditation to enable it. I could trade the resource in a couple turns. I just resisted Sareln's attack on my base, so you need not worry the deal will cancel in a couple turns.

Sure, we can figure out something when you get them hooked up ... i knew you had 2 fungal gin in the north at some point (before you and Sareln started playing war) but honestly i haven't followed close enough to see if you lost the base grabbing them
