New Version of Xcom

I haven't used any of skeleton, ghost, or archangel armors yet. Just outfitted all my people with carapace early, and then titan armor once I got it. Max protection for survivability, similar to how I used lots of nano vests early. Uberfish is correct that I tend to play more defensively. But I will attack strongly when the situation warrants doing so.

I am tempted to try the ghost armor for my assault, and use it for more difficult scouting situations with squad sight. But now I have a Psi soldier who can mind control aliens -- far more effective and a lot less risky.

Ghost armor's cloaking is better for protection than any armor! Ran into unexpected aliens? NP. Just ghost mode! Also it adds further movement which, when combine with sprinter skill, is crazy!

Also ghost armor gives you a cover bonus even when not cloaked, so the miss chance probably offsets the extra health

First DLC has been announced:

I'm feeling like it's a bit lackluster and doesn't add anything particularly interesting. It's fine and all, but not engaging. It will probably be overpriced too!

I have to agree that it does not sound all that exciting. Three missions, that you can take on from pretty much the start of the game? They can't be all that difficult to be offered so early. "New mission mechanics" could be interesting, especially if you could get other missions of this type throughout the game -- expanding the VIP/bomb/clear the area choices would be nice.

Blaster Launcher...hmmm, haven't found/unlocked that in my games yet so I have no idea how big it would be to have it early. But I am assuming it is massively less powerful than the blaster launcher of the original game.

I have no problems with game companies producing little DLC chunks like this rather than full-sized expansion packs. But they had better price it like a little DLC and not like an expansion pack if they expect people to buy it.

There's some weird ghost armor interactions as I've seen invisible reaction fire where the user stays invisible. The invisible move also isn't full proof. Best use I've seen is ghost medic still.

You can mind control (!) without breaking cloak, and you also get 100% crit if you cloak and attack the same turn which can be combined with Rapid Fire / Alloy Cannon and crit perks to 1-shot sectopods.

Anything that doesn't involve shooting except some things that involve shooting deactivate cloak.
