Year 2194 & 2195

I declared on Zak and captured his little city. Not all InVitros made it to the east already but it shouldn't make capturing University Base any harder.

Worm trouble. A stack of two mind worms and two fungal towers appeared near Fort Superiority. They must've travelled from the fog as the city has 4 anti-blooms stockpiled. After some killing in Year 2195 only the fungal towers are left.

More worm trouble in the east. A real bloom this time. I lost a Flamethrower near Smokestack Hill, but the situation is under control (I guess).

The boat sent to reach Maniac died to an Isle. I guess I'll have to wait for Subs.

In the meantime Algaculture was discovered.

A brief update on the situation:

InVitros just ride through the Zak's land

There's a lot of worm trouble in the west (Hall of Industry and Free Drone Central both had fungal blooms)

Year 2200 & 2201

After capturing Academy Park I signed peace with Zakharov (with 1 little base left) in exchange for 20 credits and world map.

Turns out that Zakharov was quite an explorer.

As the next move I originally wanted to send Invitros east to engage in the Sareln-Maniac conflict. It turns out though that they are much farther away than I had expected.

But this guy isn't:

And he was careless enough to trade his map with an AI. I've got three subs for recon and just started building transports.

Also met Mardoc. In 4 turns I should have his graphs.

Those AI have been quite busy...

Two bad rolls this turn:

First, 2 subs (a hypnotic trance and a regular one) lost to two Isles. The third sub won, but that's the only sub I have left.

The other is a Great General as my next GP at 15%-ish odds. Oh well, I had enough good luck with Doctors anyway.

I see Mardoc's graphs.

He's doing very well in terms of eco, but seems to be terribly underpowered. Good. If I invade Sian he might not be able to anything about it.

Three weeks and five turns later:

That's a total of 15 InVitros, 3 tanks and a flamethower that will be unleashed on Sian in 7 or 8 turns. They will make the journey packed in 4 transports escorted by 4 subs.

After the transports make it to the Sianland (the trickiest part) the InVitros should do OK fighting on their own. All InVitros have at least 2 promotions, all have or can take APC (+1 move on flat), about 1 in 2 has or can take a second special ability.

The outcome of the invasion probably depends on Mardoc's reaction. He might decide to intervene seeing that I could grow too strong. I should've insisted on signing a NAP between us when we were dividing the land. Too late now.

A few turns back Mardoc moored a sub and a gunfoil next to my shore. This looked suspicious and made me do some C&D via the known tech bonus. It turned out that he's the only tech I know that can build Probes, so I posted this to see if Mardoc bites:

He did:

I never saw the probe, in fact I'm not even sure that Mardoc has backed her out. If he hasn't there's not much I can do about it.

Met Sareln, or rather Sareln met me sending a sub all the way east. He can see that I have Gene Splicing.

I've decided to change the tech path. I'll get air units via Mass Driver -> Fluid Dynamics (instead of Cryogenics). It'll take more beakers but also gives thermal boreholes and thermobaric missiles for ultimate shrimplover-busting experience. I should get there in about 25 turns.

Now that's wishful thinking. If Zak hadn't given me the map or the map hadn't included Sian's land, my transports would have been on route to Maniac with ETA of 10-12 turns.

The next turn is going to be critical for the four transports and the escorting subs. They'll enter a heavy fungal area with one or more IoD and most likely get within a range of a Fungal Tower.

Something to keep in mind for later then, eh?

Most definitely. With Fusion Power (in about 10 or 30 turns depending on my luck with Great Scientists) transports will have 6 moves which will shorten the distance to Maniac and Sareln to maybe 8 turns.

Year 2211:

I'm working on strengthening my position in an inevitable (if he doesn't initiate it, I will) conflict with Mardoc. The two new coastal will follow a simple plan: Naval Yard, Bunker and then alt+Submarine.

Another bad GP roll: Great General at 12% odds. A pity, I would have used a Doctor (60+%) for a Golden Age and a Scientist to bulb half of Fusion Power).

Year 2212:

Knock, knock, Sian.

In brief: Sian's power rating is a third of mine and his best defensive unit is the Impact Trooper.
