I think Nicolae has another War Chariot, looks like a 4k increase in power this turn.

Beach Ball will overflow from the Granary to a 1-turn spear. It can then grow to size 4 in two turns working max food, and 2-whip a 2/23 spear for overflow into a third unit.

Maybe Nicolae thinks he's pillaged my copper connection?

In other news, borders in the fog lead me to believe Nicolae has settled a city 3N of his capital. I'm considering placing my aforementioned filler city in the same spot. But I think I'll try to grab gems first, ideally 1N of gems, stealing Mackoti's corn. Might as well leverage my power levels.

It's also possibly a 3k power increase, I haven't measured the graph & need to - that would be an Archer (and would require Serdoa to've also built an Archer to make the overall power numbers come out right). But paranoia is suggesting I assume a WC for now

That works out with the land numbers too, I checked when I saw your signs last turn.

Don't think we do I don't remember figuring it out at all, anyway.

He got 9 tiles of land with city2, after his capital's borders had popped to third ring (city2 settled on his T30). He also got between 3 & 15 land tiles on his T37 which I am assuming was his second city popping its borders (terrace assisted, I would guess, I have him down as getting Pottery his T32). It's complicated coz Seven also got land points that turn, and they ended up as the middle two in the demos so I can't tell how many each of them got, just the total for the two went up by 19 tiles. I think it can be narrowed down further because Seven was settling a new city and probably not popping borders at the same time so it's much more likely he got up to 9 of those and Mackoti got 10 or more, but not more than 12 coz it's second ring for a city.

That would fit with city2 being in the same place as Nicolae's city2 - 1N of the horse. But there are other possibilities - most importantly from our point of view, it could be in the same place as we've got Beach Ball.

So city3, I'm still even less sure about - but one thought is that one of the places we were talking about putting a copper city is 2E of the copper, which would have 8 new tiles first ring so would work out for those numbers.

Unlikely, because the sheep resource there is still unimproved (mouseover text says "requires pasture").

It's a 4k rise, I've measured the graph. Given I think he put at least 4k into units his T39, plus this 4k on his T40 I think one of those almost has to be a War Chariot (it could be a warrior per city 2 turns in a row, but that seems less plausible).

Nicolae moved his War Chariot back into his city, and his warrior moved northeast while his power graph stayed flat. I'm going to take this as a sign of a temporary cease fire.

Seven triple whipped his capital from 7 to 4. Fourth city incoming?

Serdoa and Mackoti got 7k soldiers points between them, Serdoa got an Archer & Mackoti something worth 4k? Can't tell for sure.

I thought about Mackoti's cities and I don't think I can figure out anything definite. However, there are more possibilities for the sorts of land numbers he has to his north than to the south (given that sheep isn't pastured), ie away from you.

Nicolae grew his third city from size 2 to 3. He also got a tech which had no soldier points. I'd put him down as getting Fishing last, but to be honest that's not actually that likely - his third city doesn't seem coastal either so surely he'd've put that off. Perhaps that was Mysticism & this one is Masonry or Poly on the way to Mono for religion+pyramids? Or perhaps this was Writing? Anything here is a guess though, just gotta wait till I find him with something he can only have got with pre-reqs.
