well I've decided I can do GoT either way. If it's a smaller game it'll be a Night's Watch game and if it's a larger one, King's Landing.

The Night's Watch is an order of men dedicated to defending Westeros from the things in the frozen lands beyond the wall. Most of the time this involves fighting large and hairy barbarians, in the time of the books this has taken a back seat to the looming threat of the "Others". Creatures of frost who raise gigantic armies of the dead. The change in mission statement causes a lot of internal friction as members of the Watch disagree to the approaches needed. The Night's Watch themselves are an order of soldiers who serve for a lifetime under an intense code of conduct, like an Order of medieval templars. They have a long and storied history of honour and glory but are currently made up of disgraced second sons of nobles and criminals impressed under the threat of gallows.

King's Landing is the political capital of Westeros. The King and his small council rule the land from here. In the time of the books the kingdom is split into civil war, with several factions vying either for the crown itself or influence over the king. The court at Kings Landing is full of people of uncertain loyalties vying for status and influence so they can push their agenda. The setting is roughly analagous to medieval London.

You don't need to. The scum will be provided with fake character claims and I won't be adhering rigidly to the plot of the books/series.

It's impossible to say without knowing the number of players in the game, but a large game is very unlikely to be a long drawn out affair like W16 was. IE: you can expect game mechanics to feature more than two players getting eliminated every day/night cycle.
