we met Serdoa, which lewwyn didn't think important enough to point out . Or it happenned after he played the turn. I guess he is south of Azza. yay for him exploring this far north, it would be awhile before we met him otherwise. he's not far from our capital and likely will find it soon. some other things of interest: serddoa must have made contact with azza, so he knows that we have not made official contact with azza. also, this means that azza probably is not yet blocking the N-S passage (I thought he might be), unless Serdoa declared war to get by. Alternatively, Serdoa could have come from the east and not passed Azza, but this seems less likely to me. demos: we're working the rice atm, so we can grow to size 2 quickly, I'd like to get a 2nd worker out before a 2nd warrior. I'm going to try and get a sandbox going myself now. also, we are only waiting on 3 players. since its the scout isn't moving for another 2 turns and the worker is busy farming, i'll hit end turn for us when it rolls to keep it going. although if serdoa's scout looks like he will pass us going west we may need to move unhealed, in case there are any huts over there.

Yeah, that happened after I logged out.
So I left it to work the rice this turn but I think we should switch to the wheat next turn. Currently there is 3 food in the food box. This turn will make 6. We work the wheat for 3 turns before the farm finishes and we get 6 more for 12. Then the farm finishes and we get 5 for 2 turns = 22 and pop growth. This helps us get the 1st warrior out faster while also still growing to 2 at the same rate as working the rice. We end up with 3 less food and 3 more hammers this way. We don't want to grow the city to 3 because we want to get the 2nd worker out and the 3rd citizen will only net us 1 more hammer. This way we grow to size 2, spend one more turn to grow the warrior and then start the worker. Our current worker can finish the rice and then start chopping. So T16 work rice T17 work wheat T18 work wheat T19 work wheat T20 work wheat (farm is finished) T21 work wheat; grow EOT (worker to forest) T22 work wheat + Grassforest; Warrior EOT (worker starts rice farm T26 in scenario 1) Here we have a choice either complete the farm or stop and move back to a forest for chopping. Here is with finishing farm first: T23 work wheat and rice; start worker (8hpt) T24 16H T25 24H T26 Rice farm finished 24+10=34H T27 44H worker to forest T28 54H; CHop EOT30 T29 Worker EOT; settler started T30 Chop in worker to forest settler at 34H EOT T31 Chop EOT 33, worker to forest, 44H T32 Chop EOT 34 54H T33 Chop in, 84H T34 Chop in, Settler EOT Not finishing rice: T22 We stay on forest Warrior EOT T23 We chop T25; worker starts 8hpt T24 16H T25 chop in 44H T26 52H worker starts rice farm or chops again? (forest in this scenario) T27 Worker EOT; Chops T29 T28 Settler start 8H; 2nd worker to forest T29 Chop in, 36H; chop start T31 T30 44H, Move forest T31 Chop in 72; Chop T33 T32 80H T33 Chop in Settler EOT We only get the Settler out a turn faster but we use more forests and we don't have the rice farmed... I really prefer finishing the rice farm before we start chopping.

Possibly we do the first chop and then that worker goes right back to finishing the rice farm but I think we still come out behind:
Doing first chop then rice: T22 We stay on forest Warrior EOT T23 We chop T25; worker starts 8hpt T24 16H T25 chop in 44H T26 52H; worker starts rice farm T30 T27 Worker EOT T28 Settler start 8Hpt; 2nd worker to forest T29 16H; chop start T31 T30 Farm finishes 10HPT 26H T31 Chop in 36+20=56H; Rice Worker to forest T32 66H CHop start T34, Worker to forest T33 76H T34 Chop in 86+20 106H Settler EOT So in this scenario we get the rice finished, we still have the settler coming out T34, we still chop just 3 forests and we actually come out 2 overflow hammers ahead. I'm cool with this.

I think Serdoa settled on turn one. Agree the scout might need to move to keep ahead of him. What are the rules about double moves if we wanted to wait and see what his scout does?
The last plan sounds good lewwyn - is the settler going somewhere near the spices? And is there a good pattern to chop the forests so they have the best chance of re-growing?

He shows up as 7% in the victory screen because those values are always rounded down. So he very well may have 7.69% of the world's land (as you do) but it would be rounded down to just 7%
So he might have 0.99 % and it'll show up as 0%? And he should have 2 culture less as he settled a turn later...
