It is possible to link off-site here? Some of you may have already seen this, but for those who haven't, I have to share this: http://www.ign.com/wikis/sid-meiers-civi...mple_Match
This is the IGN "Guide" for Beyond the Sword. It dispenses brilliant strategic advice, like how Inca is the weakest civ in the game, and why Serfdom is the best civic to be running in the Labor column. But the crowning achievement is the "sample match", which features... well, I can't even put this report into words. Trust me, you have to read this for yourself. ![]()
This guy makes me want to say that, relatively, even my play in the start of PB5 wasn't that bad.

Also in the section on civics that came before the playthrough:

Polytheism -> Masonry -> Monotheism is an amazing tech path. When did IGN hire the Templars? "Turn 37 I have to research the Wheel before I can build roads. That means my Worker can do literally nothing, and I've wasted time building him. In a word? Crap." ![]() Double Ivory city with no food resources? It sure is a good thing he built Stonehenge. Where else would Zara Yaqob get culture from? Losing 4 gpt at 100%? PANIC! All that and he doesn't try a Cultural Victory? ![]() "Turn 343 Just checking in to say that this may the only after-action report on the Internet that shows a loss. After making contact with the eastern continent, I've found that I'm behind on everything. I seriously don't see myself pulling off the win." Huh? The only one? Really? Well, that was a...fun read. Brilliant analysis.
My personal highlight was that despite a) being creative b) building a monument in his first two cities, he still wanted stonehenge. Gotta get dem elusive double-monuments.
