I did not realize that scooter had stopped playing the turns. I can play them for a week or two as a stop gap, as long as it is mostly "follow the microplan"
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.
1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.
2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.
3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.
4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.
I filled the microplan out a little bit, going with Oracle as the next build in BoG (starting T61), and a settler in OR after the archer complete on T62. Both are being chopped out by workers.
Do we want a worker or settler from SC on T64? The city will be size 4 working Wheat, Corn, Ivory and a grass mine.
Also, would it be better to whip the settler out of OR, rather than chop it out? We'll be at size 7, and whip unhappiness runs out the same turn we start the settler, so we could 3-pop whip it on T63. We'd be whipping off three river grass cottages. It's too bad there aren't any good city locations that could share those cottages. If the workers are already in place the chops should finish on T62, though, so maybe that is better after all to keep the cottage commerce.
It's okay merovech, I am happy to play the turns for the foreseeable future. I'll need cover occasionally, but can give warning.
I guess the microplan is the top priority at the moment, so nice work yossarian. I've got a bit of time to spend on it today too, so will feed back... off the top of my head I thought we'd whip and chop the settler, will see how that fits...

So, instead of chopping right away, we should build an improvement, probably mine that grass hill.
I think we want to save the chops to go in just before the oracle completes just in case someone else is going after it. In which case you're right mining the hill is the best option. But how about whipping the archer in BOG this turn, growing back to three and overflowing about 30 hammers into the oracle? We may have to lose the 8 commerce from the gold for a turn to make sure we grow back straight away, but that won't affect getting priesthood next turn.

SC - we have 6 workers and will have 4 cities soon so I'd guess a worker would be handy. Although Occam isn't going to need more improvements any time soon, so if you want a settler that's fine by me. Where would you like to send it?
OR - We only have one worker in place to chop, finishing t62. It looks like we'll be at 31 hammers on t63 and 42h on t64 so I'd go for 2-pop whipping t64, but if you think it's better t63 fair enough... Drafting in another worker could get two chops in and allow it to 2-pop whip t63 or not bothering with the chop still allows us to 3-pop whip it then.
I've corrected the micro plan for the mistake I made with the grass farm on t59, I think we can get back onto Seven's growth curve by swapping a cottage to the farm for t60, t61 and be at size 7 when we start the settler - I'll do this unless you want the cottage turns?
We've got two workers on the corn - I'll get them to build a road this turn, but what do we want them to do next?
We're up again and I think we can 2-pop whip the settler t63 if we move workers A&B SE to chop that forest rather than creating a road this turn. Does anyone have anything better to do with the two workers (or that forest)?
Further south our other scouting warrior is going to see what kind of animals live on the other side of that hill. Over to the east you can see an M3 Axe coming our way - he's named Ferret the Explorer so presumably he comes in peace - we'll have an archer and a warrior in BOG if he decides to say hello:
Then this is how the Shaven Empire looks:
Only us and TEAM are still at war. Should we offer peace?
