Turn 4 report:

Not much revealed by the Scout, so I won't post a picture this turn. Mining was discovered at the end of the turn; eight turns till Bronze Working.

Turn 6

I found the scores and the Demographics screen interesting this turn, so I thought I'd share them:

Azza's score went up to 40, and Serdoa's to 48. Given the demographics numbers, I strongly suspect Serdoa grew to size 2 off the bat, which is reflected in his Crop Yield, Soldiers, Population, and Approval Rate. Note that if so, he is working two zero-hammers tiles as everyone's Manufactured Goods is still 1 (though someone's was 2 previously). Since he couldn't have built a Worker yet, he is most likely working two three-food resource tiles. He probably planned this out and realized he would get some sort of micro benefit from growing first.

How's that for a bit of C&D? Did I make any mistakes/poor assumptions?

Eventually I'll have to delete some images from my game report threads so I don't have to buy more Dropbox space, but for now I might as well give you a screenshot every time something interesting is revealed. It might be interesting to follow along in detail while the game's happening, while later a more big-picture summary style with less images (proportionately) will be called for.

Comments have kind of dropped off; hopefully that's because it's American Thanksgiving and not because my thread has become boring! Let me know if there's anything I need to do to make it more interesting, or if it's just a case of waiting until the game state becomes a little more complex.

It's mostly there's not much to discuss until more scouting is done.

You could use Photobucket, which has too high of a limit to be reached any time soon.

Yeah, little to comment on these turns. Feel free to put up a preliminary dotmap or expand/rehash your micro for us to comment on, if you feel energetic and would like a bit more feedback. Your screenshots are quite large, that's bound to take up more space. Which file format are you using? PNG takes up more space than JPG.

Okay, good to hear it's not something I said ...

The screenshots appear to be PNG. I can change them to JPG after they're taken, but it doesn't seem to change the file size. Maybe I can search on the Internet for a solution later (I'm writing a paper the next couple days - after that, maybe I'll also post some of the things you suggested to liven it up a bit).

Turn 9

Scouting revealed something verrry interesting this turn:

In another game we're all probably familiar with Gold sites were placed between players to create conflict. There was a lot of discussion in the planning thread about map size and number of tiles per player, which I didn't really digest because I have no baseline of comparison (I've never counted the number of tiles in my land in a game before!). Given what we know about the number of tiles per player, is this possibly one such conflict-creating site, or is it safely ensconced in our lands?

Here's a zoomed-out image; I may use it to muse about possible city sites later if I have time.

Finally, at the end of the turn the Worker finished! Next turn, on to the Wheat!
