What's your favourite game soundtrack ?

After browsing through several Youtube videos of older games I thought it would be fun to see which game soundtracks people like and still remember as part of their gaming history.
So post your favourite theme (link if possible), from nostalgic 8-bit to 2012 orchestral! smile

My first pick:

The Secret of Monkey Island

I really liked Master of Orion. The techno type sound really fit well with a space combat game.

It probably doesn't count, but I used to turn the sound way down on FF: Crystal Chronicles and listen to Hot Rocks on a stereo. It synced surprisingly well.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

Toe Jam and Earl. lol

There's a lot of others, actually. Sonic 2, Zelda (big battle between Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask), Chrono Trigger... These have some songs that I still remember very well and I feel nostalgic about.

This is a brazilian band playing a version of Toe Jam and Earl's soundtrack. It's not the original, but it's very nice. I'll post some links to the original music later, because I can't look for them while at work (I already knew this video from another time):

Castlevania. Anything Castlevania.

Castle Dracula (Symphony of the Night): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dh1qqLbuBww
Pagoda of the Misty Moon (Lament of Innocence): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhAQeddnaNs
Abandoned Castle (Curse of Darkness): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv7-G28CPFI
Cursed Clock Tower (Dawn of Sorrow): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKyQ-giE5L8 -- amazing considering it's on Gameboy sound hardware

Castlevania Judgement is particularly spectacular.

Darkness of Fear: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQvLnqdFpGU
Castle Dracula: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLy7J5meou0
Bloody Tears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f-nkQvJJ3PI

And Castlevania always gets the awesomest fan remixes:

Speedball 2

And yeah, Star Control 2 was really great too.

Well if you're going to talk about fan remixes, it doesn't get much better than this Zelda one.
