WW17: Lurker Thread

I wonder how much the lack of easily previewing persons posts (due to new forum) actually affects villager scum hunting. It's quite essential tool IMO.

It hurt me a bit. And I think having the whole shift to the QT was also sort of distraction.

Metagaming.

To explain this - on day one, when we were playing in the quicktopic, Lewwyn posted in The Fat Wolves thread. He then immediately deleted the post. But he didn't make a post in the game quicktopic for hours afterwards.

why did you subscribe to the fat wolf thread after the game was over? crazyeye

I got a bit rattled Day 1 and then followed it up by choosing between Brick and TT for the kill and choosing wrong. Then I came under fire Day 2 and I was trying to both scum hunt and also simply survive another day so that I could kill again. I think the concern for my life, IE: the impetus to survive in order to night kill drove me and I ended up playing a bit differently than I normally play villager. I mean usually when I play villager I don't worry about surviving as much as actually catching scum. When I first started playing WW I played more for survival and that went almost as bad as this game. IE: WW2 and WW3.

or really? wink.

I didn't, but when you're logged in at quicktopic.com the start page shows you all quicktopics you've read.

I wonder why he thought it was Lewwyn and what novice would have done (differently) had he realised it was me writing there.

I don't think I would have done anything differently, I filed away the information for potential use in an end game. So if Lewwyn and I had survived to the endgame, and Rowain had been dead, it could have had an effect... Of course if I had been town I would have brought it up immediately on day 1*, and Rowain would have cleared things up.

I guess I thought it was Lewwyn because your nicknames are somewhat similar, and because Lewwyn is the thread starter, so his name is displayed on the front page next to the thread. Come to think of it I never read the post before it was deleted, so I must have seen just the front page, and it just displays the thread starter, it doesn't display the latest poster. smoke

*or actually maybe I would have waited for Lewwyn to roleclaim first.

Great game Azza and congrats all traitors!

I was sure that the village would strongly object to Azza's reveal of Queeg's doctor status. That was the part of the roleclaim that made me suspicious. I think* if i were village, i would indicate that i scanned the doctor, but not reveal the name at that point. It was brilliant the way you did it though as it set off the "flawed process of elimination" uber referred to. Well done!
