T73 - 1080 BC

Cliff's Notes: Apolyton researched an ancient tech in 2t. The Germans is back to 12 pop, Apolyton grew to 19, and CFC to 17.

Demos:

Only three score increases this turn, and no land points: Apolyton 9 points; the Germans 5 points, and CFC 3 points. Apolyton researched an ancient tech, and everything else is in pop. Rival total population rose with 116000, and rival worst is now 75000. 116000 over 4 cities has the following solution:

[('4->5', 42), ('4->5', 42), ('3->4', 27), ('1->2', 5)]

We can see from tile visibility that Wismar grew to size 2. Neither the Germans nor CFC have a size 3 city, so they get the two growths to 5. This leaves Apolyton with the growth to 4. WPC continue to keep stagnant in power, even at war.

Apolyton now has 19 total pop, the Germans 12, an CFC 17.

Rival total power rose with 21000, of which 1000 came from German pop. Rival best is now 99000, up 1000, so either WPC has finished another totem pole, or the Germans have passed WPC in power now. We'll know once we get graphs on WPC next turn. But it's pretty clear that WPC has stagnated their power since they declared war, while the German power has skyrocketed.

Apolyton researched an ancient tech in 2t, and I put in a tentative Masonry, though their true tech path is somewhat unclear. I was worried about them being on a Calendar beeline earlier, but now I think they are going for Monarchy given how they're burning through the ancient techs.

On the war front nothing happened last turn. If WPC is staying put right now it might be a good play from their part: they've razed the offending German city and captured some workers, and caused the Germans to whip their cities to size 2. On the other hand, they could have poured all those dog hammers into settlers and workers in the first place.

Germans whipped two cities.
WPC war weariness is also up to 14 again from 10 in previous turn. Don't know whether due to German actions or their own.

Thanks for the headsup. Do you have the demos and remember the size of Wismar? It's probably a 5->3 whip and a 2->1 whip, unless they whipped their capital twice in the same turn (5->3->2).

It's likely German actions. I checked the WW of WPC after WPC finished turn, and then they had 10.

Here the demos after they whipped:

Wismar is now size 1, not sure it was size 2 beginning of the turn though.

I can't read the numbers! But Wismar was size 2 at the start of turn. The Germans are really going heavy on the whips currently - I'm pretty sure they are planning on a counter-attack.

But they are down to 9 population total now over 5 cities. Their economy must really be hurting.

I updated the screenshot.

The Germans were quite active this turn, as m_h noted:

Ie, they whipped away 3 pop (5->3 and 2->1); rival best in power fell from 99000 to 93000; and rival total power fell with 18000 once pop loss is factored in. WPC's war weariness increased from 8 to 14.

Wismar was the city whipped back to size 1. It has 38H invested right now, almost certainly an axe or maybe a chariot.

Thus, the Germans lost 12000 in power and WPC 6000 over three fights in German territory: two WPC victories and one German victory. And they're logged in again, so the combats may continue.

Wasn't it 10 last turn?
