Revealed game information

-> You will not be lied to in your Role PM
-> there will be both mayor votes and lynch votes. First day will have both. If the new mayor dies, there will be another election, but not until then. It is possible to lynch the mayor if there is a majority of votes on him at deadline, just like any other citizen.
-> full role descriptions (of the dead) will not be revealed until game's end
-> there will be at least one protective role
-> there will be at least one passive protective ability
-> the Dragon will be represented as a player (Serial Killer)
-> Sunday the 9th, 22:00, Day 1 of the game will begin. There will be no 'pre-game night phase' although there usually isn't I felt it needed to be said.
-> If there is a tie, the mayor will still be able to pick the winner even if he is not a part of the vote.
-> Hunters will be in Orange and Werewolves will be in silver. The Dragon will show up in Red.

The role PM for a Vanilla Villager.

Welcome lonely traveler, to the village of Grimdark. May the heavens have mercy on your weary soul. Perhaps you have lived here all your life, but the village as it is now is a scene far to alien to your liking. With the brave ser Tasunketh dead at your feet, you cannot help but fear what may lay ahead. Yet you did not flee, like the others. No, you and your ken stayed because this is still your village, and even if you have only your vote to give, you will give it gladly and you will give it well.

Rules
-> no forum camping
-> no direct quoting from your Role PM
-> must vote (for lynch) every day
-> players cannot edit their posts
-> revealing a passive ability is forbidden
-> Once I have declared that everyone has their role PMs, even if before 2200 on the 9th, no one may post any earlier than 22:00 on the 9th.
-> Once you are dead you may make ONE 'goodbye' post.
-> Do expect answers on the set up, even if you feel obligated to receive them.

(those who do not vote for two consecutive 'in-game' days will be mod-killed)

Extras
-> here is a thread I started earlier this year. Not completely relevant, but enough to link it in this thread I should think.
http://realmsbeyond.net/forums/showthrea...ght=dragon

-> As my schedule dictates, I will be sending out Role PMs shortly (as I will be unable to be around at the deadline/game start today)

Monday:

The carriage was uncomfortable. Vexas scratched at his ear ... his ear always acted up in the rain. He looked across to his fellow riders, two hooded monks from the far east. They were quiet, yet something was ... calming ... about them. His eyes drifted out the window, looking to the tall pine trees and the jagged cliffs above. It was almost beautiful, looking out at the land through the curtain of droplets, except that he had the worst case of stomach worms ... it was hard for much to distract him from the pain. He hoped that there would be a healer in town, but that wasn't his real reason for journeying here-

'SNATCH!' Vexas quickly looked back to one of the monks, for he had caught a rather large mosquito out of the air, and in doing so immediately killed it. But then ... then he took the bug and placed it into his mouth, eating the ugly creature. What ... what sort of monks were these? Then he noticed that the other monk looked just as surprised as he did. "Was ... did I ... no, I must have imagined it, for no monks I know of would have glowing eyes ... bright gold, as if a brilliant star within the blackest of night. No, it must have been the hallucinations playing tricks on me again. At least ... I hope." Vexas thought.

Ah yes, the real reason Vexas came to the village of Dragonskeep; Gold .... Dragon's gold, back from when the dragons used to roam the earth and rule over the armies of men. Dragons have since died out, of course, but recently there have been rumors of a long sealed away Treasure Room that has begun to be unearthed.

Tuesday:

He was indeed able to find a healer once getting into town, and after a day's rest at the Inn he was feeling much better. There was quite an odd assortment of people, some even more exotic than he. The year-round townsfolk were there too, of course, but it seemed as though there were more foreigners than not.

Then something caught Vexas's ear: Was this a gathering in the streets? He saw a man clad in steel armor, waving his sword about and talking to a crowd of people.

"And then I say, my people, let us slay a DRAGON!!!" - the knight

Vexas overhears an elder woman talking ... "That's the young knight, I hear he just recently inherited the village from his father's passing. This Dragon slaying business all nonsense you know, them dragons been dead for years. Bet its just a bear up there or something." Vexas then buts in "What do you mean 'a bear or something' ... and why is there talk of a Dragon at all?" Amelia Hargrave "Well, mighty dear do you look lovely. Care for a pot of tea? I'll be right back" ... the old lady wanders off.

"Now let us meet fire with steel, and the whole world shall know that I, Ser Robyn Tasunketh, am more than worthy to be lord of these lands ... better even than my late father before me." - the Knight

Ever see someone and you can just tell they are either completely oblivious or way in over their head? That is the feeling Vexas got when he looked over the young knight, so eager to prove himself, yet fighting mere shadows to do so. Of course there weren't any dragons, and even if there were he doubted a single untrained Knight leading some peasants would be enough to do the trick. Nonetheless, Vexas found himself being amused. He wondered what other subtle amusements he may find in this strange new land. But the gold ... yes the gold! That was why he was here wasn' it? Perhaps he should join this Tasunketh in his quest after all ...

"Dearie!"

It was the old woman. Quickly, now hide before she-

"Come here dearie, I can see you plainly 'nuff. Come now dearie, I have a pot of tea, and you know how tea hates to be without compa'nea .... ehehehehehehehe"

Somewhat annoyed, but not wishing to be conspicuous, Vexas played along. "So tell me then, madame, what is it with Ser Tasunketh going off and slaying this dragon? And why would anyone think a dragon would be up in that cave anyways?"

"Well dearie, it all must have started near a week ago, when the cave was first discovered. A small expedition of miners was attempting to find new veins of precious metals, and at one of their searches they found a small lump of gold. Well, before you could say 'witches brew' there was a whole team on site at the Knight's orders, to see what metals they could find. Well, turns out it wasn't a vein after all, but was one of many entrances to a large treasure room."

"So that was that then right? Everyone takes home the treasure, the end. Right?"

"Not quite. For you see, just a few days ago two men from that expedition arrived in town bloody and nearly dead. Apparently they had survived an attack of some sort. From what we have learned, at first just those going into the caverns began to disappear ... but then before you knew it, you'd wake up and your neighbor's leg would be eaten clean off- having bled to death overnight. Well, by that time they decided to return home to tell the King, or at least the local Knight ... but then they were outright attacked in open daylight. After that, the memories became too much for them, and they just went on and on babbling about dragons, and how we needed to send for the army or we would all die. Now, I know good and well there were no Dragons up in those mountains, so it had to be something else. What do you think, dearie?"

"Heh ... well that is certanly a fascinating tale, but I simply must be going, for I think the knight is going to be leaving soon and-"

"Oh, but didn't you know? The knight has already left long ago. And here I thought all you wanted to do was sit and listen to my stories ..."

"What!? That can't be. We were just talking for a few moments! And ... where is he ... h .h why am I so sleheepy? so .. Zz. zzz"

Wednesday:

Sweet Clouds, milk and honey ... a drifting breeze. Gentle water, washing over my arms ... water dripping from my arms ... wait, starting to blur. am I beginning to dream? no, maybe I was dreaming ... am I still in the sky? I like the sky ... or a river- the water! yes, the water ... now what was I .. oh. Oh dear. Why is it so dark? Pain ... the pain ... am I still sick? No, no, that was cured. This doesn't even feel the same ...

"Hehehehehe, kekekekeke .... its been awhile, eh DEARIE?"

Ah, that woman. Yes ... did she poison me? But wait ... then why am I alive ... OW! Yes, that pain is very real. I see it now, my arms are dripping blood in several places, I can feel it now. I can also feel ... rough ... yes, rope. I am bound to a chair with rope. Damn ...

"You know, its been a while since I've gotten to enjoy a meal this much ..."

What is she talking about? I don't even ... oh HELL no HELL NO. That face ... its not human. Opening at all the wrong angles ... splitting apart ... is this how I will die?

>>> Suddenly loud sounds started came from nearby, and before long the wooden door splintered open. The Witch demon, in anger, leaps towards the intruder to bite him instead, not seeing that he is fully armed and prepped for combat.

The Witch's grotesque head falls onto the floor momentarily.

Lita the Witch was valiantly Slain

"Are you alright?" asked the mysterious savior.

"Yes, yes I think I'm fine. A bit bloodied up, heh, but nothing to serious I'd think"

"Well I'm not too sure about all that, but glad you are okay. Here, I'll take you to a healer."

>>>> Vexas soon passes out from all the excitement, and a bit of blood loss, as he is carried to the healer's hut.

Thursday:

Vexas wakes up with a powerful hangover. Must be an effect of the healing herbs, he thought.

"My my, twice in one week already, we may see you 5 times yet! Then you get to win the prize tongue ."

"Very funny old man ... just who was that lady anyhow?"

" You mean the witch? Not sure really, to the best of my knowledge she lived here all her life. But then, I guess you never really know a person-"

"Until you kill them?"

"No .... just that you never really know a person until its too late, I guess. Who knows, hell, maybe she would have been fine if someone just fed her a live rabbit every now and again. Of course, we'll never know now."

"I suppose. But I like the whole 'killing them' part personally. Nice, simple, easy to understand. If they are bad, just kill them. Best way to survive. Yes?"

"Well, I suppose, but then that isn't really my specialty ... I'm just a healer you know."

"As you wish. Now leave me be, I wish to quest with Tasunketh, that I may take some of that gold for myself."

Vexas takes his leave from the Herbalist's shop, where a makeshift Infirmary co-resides. He barely makes it to the market square when he notices another unsavory crowd gathering. Unsavory in that he got kidnapped last time he hung out in a crowd. So this time he scales a waist high wall and uses it to launch himself onto a straw rooftop of a nearby building. From here he feels quite safe as he watches the happenings below.

He sees a farmer run back and forth frantically, while several larger peasants drag a large sack between them ... but wait. That's not a sack. Thats ... !

Vexas makes his way to the ground as quickly as possible, and ends up pushing himself through half the crowd.

Well, up close it was unmistakable. A human body. And apparantly there was more to it than that. For the townspeople it held more significance somehow ... hmm. Of course! Ask.

And so he did. What Vexas found out was that the Lord of the Land, Ser Tasunketh, was found dead this morning, a charred corpse on the side of the road, found by a farmer by chance.

Tasunke the Village Lord was burned alive
