Plako as game admin: please, please, please.
SW scouting axe: I'm comfortable enough with the city location that we have mostly agreed on. Send this scout to the NW to continue scouting toward the Stone site.
SE red dot city: I've already mentioned my distaste for being diplomatically misled by CFC, so I'll leave that alone. But, I don't mind a culture war, if they want one. We have the Henge in our favor to pop borders, if we can get there first. Who knows how much longer this site will be there. Apparently "very soon" is not that quickly, so we may have a shot.

Game reloaded. I take it only CFC and the Germans have to play again. (from civstats)

Turn 78 - 925BC - Again
We have finally gotten back around to replaying Turn 78 after wasting the last two days. CivFanatics and the German team were responsible for this unnecessary delay. Thanks to mostly_harmless for nudging the German team into finally replaying their turn. In case you've forgotten what we were doing, here's our overview picture:
No one had any input on what to do with the barb near Mansa's Muse, so I moved our axeman in the area onto the gold tile. We should be able to kill the wandering barb with it next turn if it moves forward at all.
Despite much debate about the axes in the southwest, I realized that we have no real decision to make at all. Both axes are needed to cover our workers in the area. Let me explain.
Here's where we are this turn. The axe inside Gourmet Menu has gone to cover the worker building a road southwest of the city. Note that the barb warrior will not suicide into our axeman; the combat odds are too poor, and the AI will never attack an axe with a warrior. The barb will almost certainly move along one of the two arrows in black, and we have to assume the worst case on the interturn, which requires us to move the warrior on the hill northeast as shown. This sets up the following turn:
The Gourmet Menu axe (Wyn) must continue to cover the worker as it moves to road two tiles south of the city. However, if we do this, there's nothing stopping the barb warrior from walking into the empty city. Alternately, if we kill the barb warrior with Wyn, then we have nothing to cover the worker as he builds roads in the wilderness. This area has been swarming with barbs, so we certainly can't leave a worker uncovered out in the open.
The solution is to use our other axe (Lew) to kill the barb warrior, then let Wyn protect our worker as it moves to the plains tile. And in order to do that, we have to move Lew northeast on this turn, so it can kill the barb next turn on T79. Any scouting moves have second priority to protecting our units. The only alternative would be delaying the settling of our upcoming city by a turn, and that feels like a real waste. If it turns out that we just barely miss out on some awesome resource with our city placement, well, we can always chop a library and run high culture there for fast border pops. It will have to do.
I haven't moved the axeman on the hill so far or ended turn, but I think this is the way we need to play things.

I feel like I might be missing something, but why can't Wyn kill the barb warrior?

The off chance that the RNG screws us I presume. Stranger things have happened than an axe dying to a warrior.

The following turn we can move the worker SE first. It's possible there will be another barb adjacent to this space. If there is, I guess we follow Sullla's plan outlined above. If there isn't, we can just kill the sole barb warrior with Wyn.

But Sullla is right, that we have to move Lew as a fall back this turn NE (note that this has not happen yet).
If there is a barb threatening the worker, Wyn has to cover the worker and Lew does the killing of the currently visible barb.
If there is no immediate threat to the worker, Wyn can do the killing and Lew can swing around and continue scouting.

I've been trying to fog and flying camera horizon the tile 3E1S of the what (just outside the BFC of our planned city at 3S of GM, but within the spot 1E of the wheat), and I think the tile is unforested. But I'm certainly not sure about it. I will probably have to check in worldbuilder for a comparison.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

Having done a check in WB, I'm 90% certain that the mystery tile is unforested.
I'm updating the sandbox now, too.

Hmm, I still vote for settling on the northern desert tile.
