Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

We have a NAP with the Germans to t150, so really we can do whatever we want with regards to them. Sullla said in chat that our next three cities would be going elsewhere, and that's the truth. (Seven Tribes, spice city, and stone city). As for WPC we have a NAP until t100. If our diplo team could swing a NAP extension that lets us settle these cities:
And also a city for dyes, that would be awesome. I've no idea how to go about that, though. ![]()

I'm not sure if we'll be building any more settlers before turn 90, actually, since Focal Point will be busy getting started on MoM, and MM will be stagnated at size 7 building workers while the spice city uses the corn. And we have an increased happy cap to fill out. If we do want more settlers we should discuss what direction to expand in. Which brings us to I have tried the recent sandbox and could settle Stone City on T90. But we would have to sink the overflow hammers this turn into a galley not a lighthouse in Horse Feathers. Unless we build a settler faster elsewhere, I think T90 (maybe T89 after some optimisation) is the earliest time for settling stone city. I vote for this to be our next city (after the SW city next turn). I also would really like us to get Lew up there as soon as possible to check out who our neighbours are in that area. If nothing bad happens Lew could be in the area at T85. mh

Novice ... if you don't mind me asking, whats the point with the suggested city 2NW of the Jungled Rice ... it got no resources at all and only a Flood plain for growing ... wouldn't it be better to let the Germans gorge on that one wasting resouces to make it a worthwhile contribution?
Novice, your dotmap is quite aggressive. Nothing wrong with that, but I think given the realistic timeline for settlers to send to that area, we should consider that
a) The German borders of Worms and Wismar will pop to third ring and b) WPC will probably settle their first ring in the SW as well at some point. Anyway, since dot-mapping is fun, here is a stab at a more conservative approach. The Germans 3rd ring border is highlighted. Stone City and Spice City I think are given. In terms of priority for the north I would probably go for either green or Cyan first, securing the cow or the floodplains. mh

HF can both finish the lighthouse, build a galley and build a settler. The settler is built using chop hammers from the silks and overflow from the galley whip, plus a turn of slowbuilding.

Should we make a dedicated thread for dotmaps and other cartography?

I like the idea of not settling for the river fork hills city Novice suggested. It makes more sense for the Germans to settle that area, if we put a city there their culture will press us a bit. Not that we won't push back but I don't see the point in forcing it for now when the city won't contribute all that much in the short term anyway. My view of that city would be to farm what we could so we could work several hill mines and build military, but we could probably accomplish that elsewhere without it being right in the Germans' face. It looks like a good filler spot but nothing I'd risk angering them about. Better to let them settle the middling site, we can take it later after they've developed it a bit.

Another thing I noticed when I did the updated sandbox is that according to the micro plan, GM should switch to a Lighthouse this turn (to be whipped once the city reaches size 4, I presume). I doubt it matters much, since the overflow hammers will be applied to the library in any case, but we need to decide if there is anything critical with the switch.

we need to get a look at the BFC of a spot 6-3-3 (SE-E-E) of m-h's cyan dot. that would allow us to split the dyes with WPC without seeming too agressive - its a long way though - considering we dont have yellow (spice city) up and running yet.
