Checking in. Not much to say at this point besides what I just posted in the settings thread.
Just as a heads up my next week or so is going to be crazy between the holidays and moving to Ireland before the new year. I'll try to keep up with stuff (especially because the pregame stuff doesn't take terribly much time) but figured you should know.
Anyhow, here'd be my thoughts on the settings Gaspar wants us to vote on:
Civ/Leader restrictions: [None, Limited traits/civs (specify), some sort of picking system a la 45, other (specify)] -- None is my preference but not terribly stressed here. Go with what you want for the vote here.
Wonder bans: [None, other (specify)] -- GLH if water/intercontinental based map (at map maker's discretion)
Unit bans: [War Elephants, Spies, other (specify)] -- I'd like WE banned, and while I prefer spies totally banned not a huge difference between that and banning the outrageous missions so again not terribly stressed on that one
Map Preferences: [specify] -- Having one??? I don't really know, what are your thoughts here? I guess I'd say something sort of standard (with this lineup not sure we need variant map stuff for the game to be interesting at all) but really open to what you think here.
Also as a final note, if mackoti joins this game just got really, really stacked. Should be a fun ride.

Here's the start:
You've got six points:
5: FIN, India
4: EXP, Inca
3: ORG, CRE, SPI,
2: IND, PHI, Sumer, Egypt, Ottomen, France, China
1: Holy Rome, all other Agriculture civs, all other Mining civs
0: IMP, CHA, AGG, PRO, All other civs
Warrior starts unless you have Hunting, as is normal; you ought to have no issues with warriors wandering.
Small monarch toroid means maintenance costs are going to be significant. Org might not be a terrible pickup here, although at three points not sold on it. I think the lack of EXP bonus in the starting position makes it hard to justify that at four points. Obviously granary bonus is still incredible but I'm just not sure it's four points worth of incredible. SPI I think is out--if we're paying three points I'd rather have ORG or CRE. Also think Inca costs too much--I'd rather take CRE at 3 points than take faux-CRE at 4 and not have points left except for either IND or PHI paired with a crap trait. The points system is also really awkward with the 2 point civs. You either go EXP/0 point trait or you are forced to leave points on the table because you can't pair IND/PHI and there are no one point traits. Really an awkward setup there actually, as those civs are essentially more than two points in cost.
FIN/IMP of an agri civ might not be a bad option actually, although the lack of rivers isn't great (Actually, EDIT: four riverside cottage spots in the BFC of settling in place--can't even work all of those and all the resources until size 7 anyhow. Long term not great but for start is probably a decent amount).
Your thoughts? Really wish we had just gone normal snake pick to be honest--I'd like to see what this lineup of players could do with free reign on picks.

Betting five imaginary internet points: Inca, India, Pacal, Willem, Sury.
Not betting against any of those. Sorry should probably have been more clear: interested to see what this lineup can do in game with those sorts of leaders. The snake pick itself will likely be pretty standard I suspect.
