Maybe we should send something like this to TEAM soon:
Quote:Hi TEAM,
T81 is approaching, and as promised we'll be gifting you a fast worker then. Is there anywhere in particular you want it? Anywhere in range of Horse's Neck should be fine with us.
Also, perhaps we should revisit the matter of the eastern peninsula soon and see if we can reach agreement on how to carve it up?
Tropical Trolls
... or maybe chat is a better medium for talking to TEAM.
If you know what I mean.

Lewwyn has been very rarely on gchat lately. He tried to reach me this weekend, but I wasn't around. I decided to send him your message with a little addition. We probably want to talk about NAP extension too, but time might not be right for that yet.

Yeah, that was really my ulterior motive, so to speak. Let's just try not to come off as too eager. But I think it's alright to say (when it comes up) something like "Now that we've got the pyramids, we feel like we have a more realistic chance to compete without resorting to aggression. So we don't mind extending the NAP."
I don't think they're going to buy the "we need to stick together to have any chance of catching up" argument for much longer.
On the other hand, I'm sure neither of us will be thirsting for more territory anytime soon, since we really can't afford it anyway, so we shouldn't be too meek, either.
Edit. In terms of timing, it would be nice to extend the NAP before we hit T90. Our academy and GNP spike is due on T91.
If you know what I mean.

TEAM has been focusing their EP on us (if I remember correctly 65/69 their advantage is current tally). I've been spreading them pretty evenly among everyone but M3 (Pirates has got 2/turn to annoy Gillette/TEAM as little as possible). However after ending the turn I've set all the points towards TEAM.

It might be good to pop our second great person from Horse's Neck, to cash out those GPPs. That would probably give us a ~15% chance of a great spy, as opposed to 100% scientist if we pop it from the capital. But an EP advantage wouldn't hurt, either. (Still, this is 30 turns into the future. )
If you know what I mean.

Little chat with M3. Gillette's stone weren't even connected . Also M3-Gillette relationship is just perfect.
Quote:23:57 me: hi
HAK: Heya
me: Sry - was busy yestarday
Pyramids was pretty essentila for us. Looking at the Gillette reaction they probably were building it too
HAK: oh, didn't see their reaction yet. did they post something somewhere?
Oh, and they hadn't yet hooked up their Stone. They were still 8 turns away a couple turns ago. Their worker was building the quarry. Our Galley just sailed passed their city that has the stone access
me: in tech thread they said they need input from team and from civstats they were logged in/out more than usually
HAK: No, I think they were having to discuss some stuff about what they're about to do. They're about to settle a city on OUR side of the mountains that separates us. Pretty aggressively towards us.
me: ok. So they probably hadn't started it then
HAK: last turn our exploring Axe saw their road they're building, and their settler which would be moving into position this turn
I really need to write up some sort of communication to them tonight. Didn't have time yesterday...and I seem to be the only one participating on our team this week, since TheHumanHydra hasn't commented on anything I've posted in a few days
me: ok - have you agreed your border somehow?
HAK: We started to agree to the mountain being a border, but don't think it ever got set in writing before scooter left the team (we were negotiating with him).
with the new guy, they seem to have disregarded everything we were discussing
me: ok
But at least you've a NAP
HAK: I'm pretty pissed about them settling so close to us and blocking us out from a spot we would have gone for on our side of the mountains
me: understandeable
I've a scout there. Last turn I did see only your axe and their warrior
If I see more I'll let you know

Interesting! Edit: Also good news about the stone, because that means they aren't building the great wall, either.
If you know what I mean.

Sent this poke to Lewwyn
Quote:Sending this to your team email also. Have you given any thought to the points below?
btw. What is currently the best way to communicate with you/TEAM?
I've also spotted you directing all your EPs on us. No harm done there. We'll try to follow the suite. Maybe we could sign a deal concerning them though.

Little chat with Gillette (Old Harry). Nothign significant here. I mainly initiated this to keep lines open. Main points concern open borders and I'm taking our scout towards east.
Quote:me: Hi
Old Harry: Hi Plako
me: You were on team Gillette?
Old Harry: Yep, still am. How are your new pyramids?
me: They are fine thank you. Not much competiton there probably. Financials should have other priorities
Our scout found your settling party. I guess he bounced somewhere far away. (Haven't checked yet)
Should have asked for OB
Old Harry: Oh yeah, forgot about that - he's stuck between our new cities borders and some older borders.
We were going to need to open borders for trade soon anyway
so if you want to offer it in game we'll accept.
Can you move the scout 9,9,8 - that way you're out of our territory soonest and without viewing any of our more important cities.
me: sry got interrupted. Yeah OB is ok and I suspect 9-9-8 is also even if I don't know what that menas at the moment
Old Harry:
Have you still got much interest in your forum?
me: There aren't lot of messages, but when something happens we've ~4-5 people still commenting
You?
Old Harry: We'd be happy with moving the scout 6,9,8,8 if you'd rather, but it's quicker the other way...
yeah, we've got 3 or 4 still involved.
It sounded like TEAM was just Lewwyn for a while, but I think I've seen someone else logged in recently.
me: Q
Old Harry: Yeah, is that Qgqqqqqqqqqqqqqqqq?
me: yes
Old Harry: And I think the Pirates and M3 turn players are noobs like me, so looks like its just TEAM you need to fight really!
me: I did see Mackoti logging in few turns ago
Old Harry: I think it was a flying visit. Would love to have him back permanently!
Not sure where he went...
me: PBEM47
Old Harry: Ah! I haven't been paying attention... I'll see if I can lure him back here then. Promise him that the game has sped up a bit!
me: I will
