I have to run.

At the moment we would benefit just from cities that are planted overseas (probably not many of them). I'd like to send the Chariot towards north just to make tiny bit less appeling to break the NAP.
Also TEAM has been silent for over 10 days now. I'll send Lewwyn poke as private message.

Chat with Lewwyn. Looking good for our wonder heavy plans. Is T145 NAP and cities 1W from ivory+2E from sugar ok to you?
I think after this chat I'll be ok sending the Chariot towards SW scouting the shoreline there.
edit. Based on this chat Pirates might be hit by Knights .
Quote:Lewwyn: hey got your msg
I agree we should talk about it, I am not exactly sure how to dotmap it, is there any seafood southeast of that sugar, or no?
Lewwyn: Also I think working on a NAP extension would be great
I was going to ask about this week because it will effect my tech path
I'd prefer to just be peaceful with you guys from here out
me: hi
There is a fish in the south
What would you think about NAP Something like T130 (need to present this to team)
Lewwyn: hmmm
130 is perfect for knights
me: longer/shorter - I didn't give it much thought
Lewwyn: would prefer longer
me: 140-150?
Lewwyn: something like that
it would be less of a military imbalance at that point
me: If I present 145 to team?
Lewwyn: if we did 130 I would start beelining certain miltary techs
yeah
me: ok then to dot mapping. I'll need to take a look at the screenshot
Lewwyn: like I said I don't really want to fight with you mostly because we've set up our borders and also because you're next to Gillette
me: Makes sense. If we don't have NAP Ww would need to play it very nice towards Gillette
and of course you've a weak neighbor in Pirates - At least you should have strong negotiation stand there
Lewwyn: yeah though we haven't reall had any diplo with them for a long long time
me: ok - Trying to find a screenshot through my lousy internet (turn tracking thread is full of pictures)
Lewwyn: yeah
I looked ta it when I played the turn thing about the furs and ivory is that I should be able to get ivory from my pirate border but not the furs
but at the same time the dotmap for you is perfect to settle on the PH south of the furs
and then settle another city southeast of that for the fish and sugar
me: yes that city would had to be 2W from sugar
Lewwyn: 2W? or 2E?
me: aargh 2E
Lewwyn: where's noble when you need him
me: lol - Don't know how this can be so hard, but it seems to be many of us
So we could settle 1W from ivory and 2E from sugar?
If you want furs you pretty much had to settle E-NE from furs
before we settle our ivory city
Lewwyn: right
me: that would leave room only for a city above stone
Lewwyn: that also means we'd have to settle the stone on the stone
me: Is that ok?
When are you planning to settle furs?
Lewwyn: I'll settle them next city I guess and stone directly after that
me: We're probably not in a hurry there so you would get a head start culturally
Lewwyn: k
are you going to settle for marble in the north or the marble to your west
me: Marble in the north is our next goal. Not sure we can settle the western one. Our current dela prevents it. Might be possible to negotiate
or fight for it
So we could suggest a NAP until T145 and those city positionings for our teams?
Lewwyn: yes sounds good
me: ok - I'll let you know when we've a desicion. For me this sounds accpetable
So I suspect we'll have the desiscion fast
Lewwyn: cool
me: I've seen you rarely in gmail. Is this still ok communication form or shoulf I use e.g. private messges at RB
Lewwyn: its good, I should be on gmail much more often now
me: ok good

Here's a picture, for reference.
It's a shame to lose the fur but I guess now is the time to "sell it" if we want to get any real concessions for it. A NAP to T145 would be great; I suggest we also add a "no first strike" clause. So from T145 onwards, whoever wants to declare war on the other has to give half a turn notice, allowing the other team to get the first strike. Given our close border I think such an arrangement would be a sensible way to reduce border tension.
If they settle the stone next like they say, we will probably lose the crabs, too. So maybe we should also consider just planting one city in that area, on the sugar. Or maybe settle E of sugar and E of wheat. Actually, I like the latter option, with a third city N of the fish (near the capital).
If you know what I mean.

And definitely get the no strike first clause, that's a good idea.

Quote:Our team is ok with a deal i.e. NAP until T145 and city positionings discussed. My team also suggests adding a "no first strike" clause: Whoever wants to declare war on the other has to give half a turn notice, allowing the other team to get the first strike. This would be in effect after our NAP ends. Given our close border such an arrangement would be a sensible way to reduce border tension.
Please confirm, if you're also ok with the deal and suggested "no first strike" addition?

Chat with HAK:
* They sign NAP with Gillette up to T125
* Their interpretation of no-ROP is very liberal so I suggest we remove that from our deals
* This is probably apparent, but HAK does not know this game that well or he is doing great job at deceiving me
Quote:me: hi
HAK: Hello there.
me: a bit drunk so beware
HAK: I guess you got the email I sent?
and I'm busy at work, so may be a little slow. heh
me: congrats for your prophet
HAK: Thanks. We've been waiting for awhile for him.
we finally get to have our shrine now
me: Good news. Actually I haven't checked our team email. Doing it now
HAK: just Gillette wanting to extend our NAP to T125
me: darn. don't remeber pasword. Need to check it from forum
ok - was there something else there - I can skip logging in these hours
HAK: Nope, that was it. Informing you that they were asking to extend the NAP and that we are planning to accept it.
me: ok. Would you be intrested in spreading Hindu to us?
HAK: Probably. I'll check with the team, but we may need somethingin return. Especially since right now we haven't even gotten it to our own cities so building a Missionary for you will take away from us building one for ourself.
Oh, and you'll see it next turn....there will be a declaration of war by us against TEAM. But it's only to get our Scout out being blocked in by their new cities on the eastern coast.
Lewwyn didn't want to allow Open Borders. But he's ok with a War for the passed of our scout through
then we'll do peace again after 10 turns
me: Well I think there is plenty for you. In case it ends up our state religion we would be spreading it
HAK: yeah, right now it's just the time for building a missionary for things we need to be building for ourselves, like workers and our own missionaries
me: Strange. I guess he is afraid of GLH
HAK: yeah, probably.
maybe if you guys would toss us a worker in exchange for the missionary, that might be enough.
me: That shounds a bit high price. Our workers are fast after all - lol
HAK: oh right, forgot about that.
well, I guess think about it for now and we can discuss later in more detail
me: well do you've plans for landing AP?
That woulkd make Hindu a bit more intresting
HAK: don't know. I don't even remember off the top of my head what that does. Or which Tech is needed to get it
me: Theology - Gives +2 hámmers for temples and Monasteries
of AP religion
HAK: ah. I can't think that far ahead yet. LOL
me: ok. I don't think we're very intrested in paying for missionary at this point. So we'll probably wait for free spread of if we get some of the later religions
HAK: ok. well, I'll also let you know if we change our minds about sending it to you for free. for now our next misionary or two will need to be used for internal use.
me: Understandeable. It seems both of us are pretty relaxed concerning ROP deal. Would it be ok if we just scout each others land?
HAK: that is something I'll need to run by my team first (ie. run by TheHumanHydra....and LordParkin, if he feels like chiming in which is rare). That's all that's left of our team.
me: ok. It is just you sent your galley through us and now I see your scout in our territory. I've not landed in your territory, but to get faster through I've used it
HAK: well the scout happened because you settled the city while he was next to the spot you made the city.
as for the galley, we had already talked about the fact that I was sending the galley all the way along the eastern coast to create the trade routes, so I didn't think of the fact that you had created a city down on that coast as well.
but yeah, let me run it by the team first. I think they may be ok with it, since at this point there's nothing much for our own scouts to do either. so allowing mutual exploration should be ok
me: I better go to bed now. Not sure I was supposed to sign ROP with you - lol
HAK: ROP?
me: *Right of passage
HAK: ah, gotcha.
g'nite
me: typical RB slang - bye
