FYI, a too-late message from Yossarian:
Yossarian Wrote:Hi Scooter,
On T80, there was a barb warrior 4 east 1 south of your scout's location. If it moved into our borders as we were assuming it would, then you should be safe. If it moved west or southwest, then it would be adjacent to the hill you would like to move onto. I will ask our turnplayer to check that for you when he logs in.
Sorry about the delay in our reply. I'll see where we are with a formal message to your team.

Why not move the scout 1E next turn?
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

Fishing up a post from over a month ago with the last CFC diplo regarding the border city arrangement.

chat with CFC/Caledorn Wrote:Caledorn: I am not 100% certain what our turn players has recommended, and if you want a 100% certain answer I have to ask. But based on the screenshots I believe the city will be either 6,6 or 6,3 from the Oasis
6,9 is a desert tile, so that would be silly
scooter: well settling on a desert isn't really silly since it auto converts to a 2/1/1 tile so it's actually kinda nice to redeem it
Caledorn: Oh.. blushes This is why I do diplomacy and not turnplaying...
I had no idea about that
scooter: haha it's ok. learn something new every day!
Included the comment on the desert thing just to reinforce that Caledorn very much is just their diplo guy and certainly not heavily involved in strategic decisions... Just something to keep in mind.
We then had this brief follow-up exchange:
chat with CFC/Caledorn Wrote:Caledorn: Let me see if I can find the dotmap someone made
Ugh. That did not help as the dotmap also proposes 3 as a possible location. I will ask. Hopefully one of the turnplayers will clarify before you leave, because this is not helpful at all
scooter: ok, yeah if you could just let us know that would be helpful.
without full knowledge of what the terrain looks like, i would say 6-6 and 6-3 would both sound nice from our perspective
I'll update if/when more comes in.
Still no sign of a settler on the way...

I give them a good bit of credit for that piece of successful diplo. If they tell us they're about to settle a site with the oasis in the BFC, we are likely to de-prioritize scouting and settling in that area. Little to risk on their part, as they can always claim they uncovered some more favorable spots.

Yeah but we weren't prioritizing that area either... It was far enough away that our organic growth wouldn't get there for a while anyway. Do you think we were actually influenced by what they said? If anything this actually prompted us to build a scout and go scout it out.

I don't see anyway to get 2XP for Lew (even if we don't heal and stay at 88 HP and attack into the forest, it's still only 1XP), so I agree with Sullla - heal him in the city and kill the barb on the hill next turn.

Moved the scout back to its original position, left the axe inside Seven Tribes in the southwest, and ended turn. We should be good to go for the following turn... whenever that might be.

No, no wasn't trying to imply it "worked" on us or influenced our path. I still think their intent was to delay us from considering that area for settlement.

OK, I think that we are safe to move our scout forward to the hill next to CFC on this upcoming turn... correct? I believe that they told us we were safe to make that move. If we're lucky, the German team will play sometime today and we'll be able to move onto the new turn, and then I'll have the decision to make with our scout.

Is the Axe at Spices going to wander towards the barb city taking a peek and prehaps a few xp and a city?
