Realms Beyond Guild banner patterns!

After looking at the capes again with all 4 characters, I would have to say it would be hard to get a design that will look good on most characters. I am changing my vote to plain white or black with a torn cape. Key is, it will not look bad with any character, and plain is going to be the variant - You know those teeagers who try so hard to be different they are just like everyone?

It has taken me forever to get this done (my apologies for being so lame), but here are some screenshots of the emblems that got support, the two banner shapes, all with the flames pattern. I captured them with black emblem on white background, and vice versa:

I hadn't realized that the flames pattern also adds in a very faint line up the center of the banner - not sure whether it will show up when our characters are wearing the cloaks, but it's something to be aware of. Please note that the black and white color combination is not set in stone - I used them on the theory that we'd get the most contrast out of them.
Never being one to leave well enough alone, I grabbed some additional screenies of other color combos:

Some comments about each of these -
I like the Gryphon concept, but this particular emblem is too big, reaching onto the cape border. It needs to be smaller to look good.
The Crossed Swords fit (just barely) inside the border and flames design, but again is almost too big. I like this color combo, though.
The Scorpion is what I'd consider to be the perfect size emblem. Another color combination that's quite striking is the dark background with blue flames.
For color, I think I like the gold emblem on white background the best - it will be bright, easy to recognize your teammates, and just looks cool.
As a final random possibility, the plain white cloak with the sunburst looks pretty sharp! The emblem is the perfect size, and it's tastefully understated. Although, as KoP says, just a plain white (or black) cape with no emblem would also be slick...

As usual, please state your preferences.

White crossed swords, blackish background, yellow flame edge. Elegant KISS principle.

Thanks for the artwork/effort, Hawk. smile

I am still pulling for a plain white cape. I am still very cluless about lots of stuff in GW, not having too much time to play in the weekends and not always in a gaming mindset after a long day's work has that kind of effect. I can't remember if only preset colors are available or if there is a color mixer (or level adjuster) one can use to get custom colors. The yellow sun burst on white does look sharp but I am thinking that the Gryphon in off white on white cape would look very cool too. Now you see it, now you don't. The Gryphon, being larger in size, makes it more "visible"

Btw, cool screen grab for your den's profile smile

There is a brightness slider that you can use to get custom colors, so it would be possible to have a white cape with a light grey Gryphon - and that would look extremely cool, no doubt about it! I think I'm really leaning toward having no flames or other pattern on the banner - just the emblem. Makes for a cleaner look.

Thanks for the compliment on the screen grab. smile You can call me a fashionista, but I just *love* the eye candy in GW. The casting animations just look soooo sweet! thumbsup

Is this a vote?

I vote for plain white with the two headed dragon thingy (first column) or the crossed-swords. Black cape with blue flame looks nifty too.

Cape pattern and style choices are still the same as Hawkmoon posted earlier in the thread. I tried a few different colour combinations with our own emblem:

I like the Black one, Royal Blue, and the Purple. In that order.

Anyone else have a pref?

I like the white-on-white, the black, and royal blue (or maybe something a bit darker, more on the order of navy blue), in that order.

My cape colour peference: white > black > blue.

For the white cape, I prefer the emblem to be slightly silver-greyish, instead of pure white. Notice all other colours are with slight silver-greyish emblem in that picture.

Oh, the pink is included to tempt Sirian back to GW. wink

EDIT: I believe the guild as a whole already has the money to get the cape, heck, a guildie accumulated over 1000 golds in a single day.rolleye Decision time.
