[SPOILERS] Lewger goes for the Bigwyn

I'd suggest its 1s, 2w of the pigs. Maybe.

Sorry I haven't kept up with the c&d over the last few turns - I stuck numbers into my spreadsheet but didn't get anything useful out. I'll check what its saying for Azza...

I am sad that we don't have copper. It's just a terrible situation to go in at a Roman Azza with chariots because we don't have copper for axes.

So all the higgledy piggledy borders of new cities being plonked down have made it almost impossible to follow who has done what recently, but I've plugged Azza's details in and:
- It suggests he got Iron Working t59 and whipped twice that turn (for the two settlers we can see?)
- He was level with us for power with 38000 soldiers - only 4000 of which was units, I think 2 warriors.
- The more recent increase coincides with a tech so could be the wheel

Does this graph make sense:

I think you could swap t39 and t62 over - but it doesn't make any difference, he still only has 3 warriors right now... hammer
(Disclaimer: could be complete nonsense!)

Got to wait for Azza to play. Then we'll likely declare war and attack. Ugh, I really don't want to crash the economy. If we had copper I'd say we could just expand peacefully. We have the land and means to do so.

I fear we're soon to become irrelevant... I wish we had diplo.

Don't be a negative nancy. There is a lot that is good about our position. you are worried because we're going into war with incomplete information, but we're making the right decision with the information we do have. And as far as we know, Azza has no strategic resources and we can run over him <G>.

Anyway, Krill spent pretty much the whole game fighting Azza in pb5 and won that. So fighting Azza is good luck wink.

I was thinking. I don't think he has copper, really. If he does he is playing it poorly or setting a trap that involves losing one of his cities (not a good trap, heh). If he did have copper he would have either a spear or an axe in the iron city.

worst case, we raze the city and keep from expanding north of his capital or towards the stone. we can then resettle the iron/gold/rice city once we have iron-working and revisit sieging his capital.

best case, all he has is warriors and we can take (and keep) his capital. we can then either make peace or keep going, depending.

anyway, if for some reason azza tries to plan the stone city, maybe send the chariot out of Gilgamesh south to deal w/ it? most likely he retreats the settler to settle southward, so then the chariot can make its way towards the Odyssey. don't forget to whip the third chariot in the Odyssey smile.

Poor Azza. We attacked and I captured his two uncovered workers on the iron. There are no other units besides the warrior in the city next to it. Debating whether to keep the workers or delete. The best Azza can do is attack with a chariot at 50/50 odds from the fog. He has a road south of tokyo, but no road connecting to that road southward towards the cap. I believe he roaded there as he was moving from the rice.

Harry can you check if he has a chariot? I didn't really look at the power graph before i got kicked off my wife's computer.

Bigger grab pictures of the situation?

here is the situation @ birds of tokyo:

I told Lewwyn there was no way Azza would leave those 2 workers exposed (they are under the chariot). He said "well we will see." He was right heh smile. Lewwyn wants to delete them. my vote is to gamble and keep them. 2 extra workers means we won't need to build a worker for quite awhile. the only unit that can reach the chariot is another chariot, which would have to be exactly 2S of birds of tokyo. even then it would be 50/50. i say, play to win - if he can get a chariot up there and beat us, our attack is going to be in serious trouble anyway, we might as well play to maximize our chances if he cannot. Besides, we can see no evidence of horses smile.

For good luck, I renamed the two workers Briseis and Chryseis. They were slave women captured by the Greeks in the Iliad smile.

here is lesser Ajax, produced out of the capital Gilgamesh last turn:

we're going to have to decide whether to send him east or west of the lake, because azza did this:
that city has to be razed. I can only assume there is some seafood off that inlet? it misses the stone and horses in its BFC, and only has 1 lake site. the forest to the NW picks up the horses and the stone and 3 lakes.
but its on flatland. if azza just wanted to plant to have an easily defended city he could have bunkered up in the PH 1E that he was originally on - it would be much more difficult to take.
the warrior there only has 24.1& odds, so probably will continue on to azza's capital. do we divert lesser ajax, or bring all 3 chariots to force on the capital?

probably best to snipe that city too while its easy. we just whipped a chariot in theodyssey and can do the same fairly quickly (with granary and corn) if we don't mind the whip weariness. and we finish another chariot in 3 turns in gilgamesh.

here is Gilgamesh:

tenative plan is to push out 2 more chariots, grow into unhappy, then triple whip a settler. that could change tho.

switching off the hill to the cottage put us back #1 in GNP, which is good since we're eating through our cash reserves.

someone made a leap in food frown
the scout heals in 2 turns, maybe he'll discover another hut.

we have the #2 city in the world now. azza is #5, the #1 is a size 7 city frown.

here's the power graph:

not as scary when you consider the 2 turn delay. ours will spike when the 2 new chariots show up. I am curiuous what azza's military is though, all we've seen are a couple of warriors. if azza was preparing to iunvade serdoa then we just did serdoa a big favor, hehe.
