Intersite Game - Turn Discussion Thread

Given the low activity concerns some other teams have already voiced, it may already be doing just that.

For us the amount of time each turn takes is a big annoyance and source of much frustration, but in the end I don't see it affecting our actual performance. I'm more concerned what the glacial pace might do to the interest in other teams, especially the smaller ones.

I know, I wasn't talking about our team. I'm starting to get very worried that the game will die just when it's starting to get interesting. Teams that are less organized are likely to fall apart and simply lose any desire to continue.

Question regarding the terms of the settlement deal with CFC: is that captured barb city okay? Could it be casus belli against us later?

given that they've given no clue that they know of the city in the first place, its a case of Fait accompli ... added to the fact that its a good bit north of their projected pink dot for the stone

See the map in this post:

Based on capital positions the barb city is closer to CFC and WPC than us. On the other hand, we are the only team that has settled in the general direction.

I think either side can make a case of this barb city belonging to their sphere of influence.
CFC's claim might be a bit hampered byte fact that they have that salt water body in between. It most likely is 20 tiles big as well.

Can someone figure out exactly what we agreed to with CFC? As far as I can tell from the diplo correspondence thread we only have an agreement not to SETTLE past the oasis without further discussion. Was a more formal agreement reached?

At least in my mind, settling is not the same thing as capturing a barb city.

What m_h said. Also, what if they declare war? They're already far behind us in tech, and the terrain in our main border area is well suited for war chariots. WPC has just taken a beating, and the Germans seem to be aware that early wars are contra productive, and we probably has better contacts with them anyway.
Furthermore, I consider that forum views should be fluid in width

i think it was more a 'towards them past the oasis' ... Barb city is more towards WPC in my book

Will they even see its borders if we do take it?
What timeframe (in-game are we looking at?

Turn rolled just as I was about to head out for the evening New Years celebration. I moved our exploring units and settled our eighth city of Forbidden Fruits. I have screenshots for turn roll Demos as well, but all that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Happy 2013 everyone. biggrin
