Ok, so Fox and I were throwing build ideas around and we decided that figuring out who we've got and building around what they can do, rather than making a build and then asking people to pick their roles, would be the way to go. In other words, we didn't want to make a build that had 2 mesmers in it only to find out that we don't actually have 2 people in the guild that can, or want to, play mesmer. So, if you're interested in participating, leave a post here with the roles you want to play. Bear in mind that I'll more than likely be playing a warrior (or some other frontline), and whatever build we come up with will probably only have 2 frontliners in it.

I'm in, so long as it works with the free time I have. Don't really care what I play, I'm pretty equally out of practice with it all; probably lean towards monk though. Still working on getting all the NF elites, but I can get anything I need.

I'm up for it, but depends on what days you do the stuff on.

MoWe is when I'm pratcially at school from noon to 9pm, so those are definitely bad days for me. School work is picking up a bit for me since its midterm time and now I have group projects in all of my classes. So I should have time, but if I have to bail for school, I can't help it.

I have a dedicated pvp slot now, UAX, and I don't mind playing anything. Hell I'll even try to monk if need be. I'd rather try playing everything sooner or later though so I know how everyone's role in each build works.

Sat afternoon is a definite possibility; however right now I'm more interested in finding out who's interested. We could even work off a rotating schedule if need be. Need to take it one step at a time, though; don't worry so much about the when just yet.

Well, you've been talking about wanting to train someone in the art of flagging.

That was more in the context of there being a few Basin players enthusiastic about the role, but not really understanding that there's much more to the job than running flags. I didn't really have the first clue about what I was doing until I went through the analysis and critique of team GvG and started to learn from my mistakes and make better judgements. Utlimately the flagger has secondary strategic responsibility behind the leader, and needs to work with them to develop split and response strategies as well as push and pull, instead of expecting the leader to do that alone- which is what frustrates me most with most people trying to flag. That's why I've said that I'd like to train some Basin flaggers.

In the small RB environ however, it's not like I have to worry about people who think flagging is easier than monking, or watching guild string up losses when I'm not around because they thought they could stick the newbies on the unelegant flagger role. My only concern here is whether you want me to work in a tutoring or post-match analysis role- I'll spend a fair time away from the rest of the team and not really know what they are doing beyond observer mode, although I can watch and call things when supporting a split.

Oddly enough I think that flagging is good training for leading in a certain sense- I feel more confident now about judging pushes/pulls and splitting. On the other hand I've played so little frontline that I have no idea how to do that anymore or call spike targets.

Well, count me in for GvG. I am fairly comfortable going as Ranger, Necro, or Elementalist, however, I haven't unlocked that many NF elites for my ranger yet, and none for my Ele or Necro that can't be reached in EoTN. If we come up with a specific build that lacks a skill, I can spend some faction though.

As for my schedule, I am usually on early in the mornings, and that's just going to get worse as the winter wears on. At this point, Saturday afternoons would be perfect for me, though Sunday would work as well. However, given that my schedule changes every six weeks, that may alter..........

Availability: random with low expected value and high variance.
Time: add 5 hours from the EST you're thinking of, or 6 whenever you decide to go out of Summer Time. If it results in daylight morning (6 AM to noon), I'm not available. Else, there is a chance.
Preferred position: none, UAS.

To everyone that didn't say what position they wanted: please pick 2-3 classes that you want to learn to play. Lest ye all forget, one of the (rather big) reasons we're doing this is so that people can learn and get better, and trying to be a Jack-of-all-trades won't make you any better. So, pick a class or two that you won't mind sticking with for a few months.

Ele since I've been playing ele so much lately.

Mes

Sin or Derv (whichever might be used more for our purposes)...If we won't be using either, then Necro.

I guess I'll go with those.
